The idea of speed up song - is simple - take the original and let it run in 200% speed...and the results? sometimes funny, but many of them should be really nice (like as if the music is performed by DragonForce or so )

eh...it arent my works...i just collected some youtube links ;-)

but i think any program capable to work with audio tracks is able to do this...i can mention for example video editor (primary, but audio you can edit too) Adobe Premiere, i´d use if i do something like that...

I do that a lot with Windows Media Player...the results are always hillarious...you don't need any fancy program to speed shit up really...

well tempo of DragonForce songs like Operation Ground And Pound is somewhere at 200 so speed it 200% up kills the half of notes, because there is simply no time left to play 16th note in such a speed - the duration of such a note is only about 0,0185 s...not enough for you to recognize and maybe not even for the computer to emulate it...so no wonder it sounds awful...

i´d dont say they do it - check LIVE and STUDIO version of My Spirit Will Go On for instance....both same length, both same tempo (though the studio version owns the live version for other reasons )

Ive never tried something like this, but I think that Sentenced's "The Trooper" is recorded normaly and than speeded up a little. It sounds like that to me.

I'm currently wondering what a doom metal band would sound like sped up. In fact, I'll do it. *Will edit when done*

On occasion I have taken my vinyls and sped them up with the controls on the player. One of the funniest that I have found is Opeth - Ghost of Perdition sped up makes Mikael's vocals sound like Dani Filth when he is growling and when he is singing clean he sounds like a chipmunk. Just freaking hilarious.

Van Halen's "Where Have All the Good Times Gone!" sped up is the best song in the history of recorded sound.
