The day started off bright and early. being the first time In Flames have toured Australia i think anyone who likes In Flames were up bright and early getting ready to head into sydney for an afternoon of booze, metal and more booze

The Sold out gig was nothing short of amazing!!!.. the first band up was newly metal blade signed local melodic death act Daysend (people who like Soilwork, In Flames, At The Gates will like Daysend)... The sound was great.. the floor was moving and the music was heavy!!... They put on a great show which is normal for this talented band, with songs like beggars with knives, siblings, countdown and end of days you cant go wrong!

Second band up was Chimaira.. I was looking forward to seeing this band play for one reason.. KEVIN TALLEY!!! (ex Dying Fetus)... I was soo disappointed no amount of alcohol would have helped with my disappointment... the band were the typical nu metal band with band jokes left right and centre, though the sound was brutal and they had some catchy songs after 2 tracks everything sounded the same, same riffs, same style vocals and kevin talley did a terrible little solo and didnt put much effort in... and it's disappointing coming from dying fetus to this band..(anyone who has heard him play in his previous band would know what I'm talking about).. after an hour of bad music.. I had to visit the bar for cheap beer.

About 30 mins later after having the biggest whinge to anyone who would listen, the lights went out and the real show began!!!!..20 songs of pure bliss!... IN FLAMES... the band I've been waiting to see for over 5 years. Like the previous bands the sound was thick and heavy, vocals were spot on as was the music!

They covered new and old.. for the old fans and the new and for people like me who love it all! I'd have to say the highlight of my night was episode 666 and moonshield, the light show was just trippy as you can see in the photos and the whole places was just rocking.

I would have to say this rates up there as one of my all time favourite shows, everything was just played to perfection and after seeing in flames the disappointment I had before the show had all gone!
