Dream Evil interview (05/2010)

With: Patrik "Pat Power" Jerksten
Conducted by: Baz Anderson (in person)

Band profile:

Dream Evil

Dream Evil have just released their new album "In The Night" and are back in the UK on tour with Hammerfall. Straight after the Dream Evil set I got to go back to the tour bus with Mr Pat Power to have a chat about various things Dreamy and Evil. We find out exactly what the "book of heavy metal" is, and learn a completely new and metal way of maintaining a healthy lawn in your garden. Watch the chat below:

(Note: After I ask if there is something he's always asked in interviews, Niklas (vocals) appeared on the bus and chipped in with an amusing voice: "why are you so short, but still so powerful". This isn't very clear on the recording.)

A review of the show can be found at this location.

Many thanks to Pat for his time.
Conducted and edited by Barry Anderson.
Recorded by Glenn Searing.

Brilliant concert, but I made the mistake of standing directly next to the smoke machine, I didn't know it was there, it seemed like a good place to stand on the steps at the left hand side, near the front, I wondered why no-one else was there, now I know why. Only a little guy in a red t-shirt with a camera was in the same spot, about 6ft further forward during Dream Evil's set.

I'm more of a fan of Dream Evil than Hammerfall and was looking forward to them more than the headline act, but Hammerfall really got the crowd going.

It was a good night, in my top two concerts this year.

Hahaha, I wonder who that guy was. I must say I've never stood there before either. I didn't mind the smoke, but it did kind of take me out of the atmosphere of the show.

I'll have the pictures up soon, but the review will be on in a couple of days probably, because I've only just put the UK Deathfest one on, and I'd like to give people a chance to see that.

Great interview!

I went to the Sheffield show and it was really good. I probably prefer Dream Evil over Hammerfall now after seeing them live. I'd love to see them again.

I was able to speak briefly with Ritchie Rainbow and get my ticket signed by him, which I'm pretty chuffed about.
