Severed Savior is a band that I had not heard of until recently. I discovered the band through our handy-dandy random band link. I have discovered several good bands through this source.

We can add Severed Savior to the pile.

Severed Savior's newest release, Servile Insurrection, is a winner; the album is a technical, brutal and speedy release. The intro song starts off with a nice cymbal crash. That's what gets me going in the morning, not coffee, or tea. Nope, I listen to four cymbal crashes to set my tempo for the day.

The music on this album is astounding; they pack soul and technical together into one big mash-up. They even add in a nice acoustic guitar track, which is just as technical as the normal tracks. The drums on this album are good, but seem to focus on blastbeats, which is not a bad thing; it just would have been nice to see a little more variation. The guitarist is amazing; he shows his talent on both electric and acoustic. The bass is on par with the likes of Sean Beasley and Ivan Munguia. Vocals are good, nothing special, but they have their own qualities which sets them apart from the regular crowd.

This album would score quite low in the originality department, if it wasn't for a nice little added effect. Some of the songs in this album have jazz incorporated into them? That's right folks, smooth Jazz. The effects are subtle but you will notice them none-the-less.

Overall this is a decent album, and I would recommend it for fans of Brain Drill and Necrophagist.

Highlights- "Question" and "Intervallo Del Tradimento"
