Vertigo is the new project of one of the star of the rock music of the 80's. Do you remember TOTO and albums like "Fahrenheit" or "The Seventh One" ? With Vertigo we see the return of Joseph Williams [former singer of Toto]. After his last solo album six years ago and which was released only for Japan, this is the return of this great singer. And believe me if you are a fan of Toto you'll be happy to listen this album.

Let's be honest immediately, if you are a pure Metal Head [who used to listen Death, Thrash etc?] and if you don't like Toto, you can pass your way? Because "Vertigo" is an album in the same vein of the very known US band of the 80's. It's like soft "pop hard rock" music with slow melodies and guitars solos.

Accompanied by musicians like Alex De Rosso [Dokken] or JM Scattolin [Mike Inez, Cypress Hill], Joseph Williams can give all his knowledge to the music. The tracks are not written by Williams himself but by some Americans authors Kane Roberts [Alice Cooper] or Stuart Smith [Heaven & Heart]? who knew how to give an innovative sound but near the own sound of Toto.

The result is pleasant in general but some tracks can be boring and maybe this is the big problem of "Vertigo". It's the kind of music that can be good for you today and not very attractive the other day.

Finally, let's talk about the production of the CD by Fabrizio V.Zee Grossi [Ice-T, Tina Arena or Steve Vai?] who is very good and gives a great sound to this album. Well done?

To sum up I can recommend this album to all the fans of soft rock and well evidently to all the fans of Toto who will be very happy to rediscover this great singer. For the others, well, you can pass your way or not if you're curious and nostalgic?
