In the year 2004, three years after their last album, this is the great come back of one of the most promising band of the new metal scene of the end of the 90's in France, Oversoul. First, you must know that Oversoul is more in the vein of all this actual new metal scene, musically they are very near of a "new" Machine Head or a Kill Two This for example, something which can be interesting in my opinion, but I already see a lot of Metal Heads who will take their crucifix and put the thing before their head? For sure if you don't like this kind of music, you can pass your way, but for the others you should have a look on it?.

Well the 3rd songs of this promo disc are for me, interesting for some parts and a bit disappointed for some others parts.
First the riffs are all very catchy really powerful in the pure vein of Neo thrash, that's well done and for sure this is the kind of music which puts a real fury in the pit of the shows. Really this is maybe a bit basic but at the end catchy and I think that in general that the thing that we want with this kind of album if we like this kind of music. The vocals are also powerful but some stuff like the solo on the track "Better Man" are just really impressive. This is totally crazy, with a structure more than silly but very good, it could be done by someone like Mattias Eklundh if you want an idea, classy?
The bad point for me come from the chorus, it often the case with this kind of band but it's a bit too much Nu Metal form me. You know something catchy yes but a bit "too much"?
The production seems to be correct too, at least for these 3 songs, but well this is not perfect too, and sometime the sound can be a bit noisy. Not really disturbing this is however not very clean? Too bad?
But in general, if you like the music of the band, if you like this style of Metal, don't worry all the tracks are good and this is a really good album in the style?

Well it was a review a bit special this time but I hope that the ones who will read it will understand why I'm a bit angry. No quotation sorry, but if you like this kind of music, no problem you can buy this album you couldn't be disappointed. For the others who prefer a Metal a bit more classic have a look on it however and maybe you will find this new album interesting. But for sure this is a good come back of the band, no doubt on it?
