The person who tells me what is happening in this picture will be rewarded 20 euros. I'm serious.

Of course I'm not serious, I lied as usual. Still, please reach out if you have any information that could lead to the understanding of what this individual is doing to himself.

On top of that eye-catching cover-art, the guys at Halshug "sing" in the perfect-for-crust-punk language that is Danish. I'm not sure I would have understood any of it even if it were English anyway, but I agree with what they say. As they speak the international language of "fuck you". And I agree with everything they do as well.

BARK-BARK-BLARGH-BLARGH-BLAST-BLASTing their way into your ears and other orifices of your choice, Halshug's music is something no one needs to explain or analyse. It's music for people who like it to be viscerally, honestly, purely, unaltered, uncut, 100% punk to the core. I've had a hard time typing this review up because of how impossible it was to refrain from flipping the desk and pogo dancing. Those who think d-beat isn't as good with a clean production can go throw themselves under a loaded twelve-wheel dump truck, because every instrument is audible and is still played as roughly as it has to be - vocals included. Somehow akin to a savage Danish version of Wolfbrigade, Halshug really have their own little thing going with those reverb-ed unintelligible vocals, extra chunky bass, and that caustic yet metallic feel that will appeal to the least adventurous of you.

Blodets Bånd is the perfect soundtrack to an emergency house-cleaning session before that girl you miraculously managed to seduce at the bar yesterday arrives. Unless you end up trashing the place instead. Who cares anyway, if she let you speak to her without calling for help, she's probably into crust and d-beat.

That's definitely the kind of album art that makes you want to listen to the album just in an attempt to figure out what the hell is going on. Very intriguing indeed. Bands singing in their native tongues almost always pulls me in for some reason, getting on this soon for sure.

I think it's quite obvious that the person on the picture is practicing sideways bhujapidasana with a touch of self-asphyxiation.

Seems as though it's an optical illusion of sorts, though I don't think there are enough details to sway my opinion one way or another. The arm makes the body look like it is head-down, but to the left of it is a piece of his pants, I think, with the back-pocket line visible. As for what he's doing, it might be an ode to the band name, "decapitate", with the weird contraption in it.

More akin with the band's music, it probably has no clear meaning, being just a chaos of amorphous, obtuse shapes and lines.

F*****************k. If I ever get tortured - and those responsible want to get it right - all that would be required is this album. I don't think I could bear another second.

The shirt is pulled upward, the head is covered with a hood, his neck is tied to the celling and his right and is tied to a hanging bar. Nonetheless I think Electes hits pretty close.

If there was any person in the world I wouldn't recommend this album to, it would be you. I have no idea why you went tried it.

Thank you all for your answers, one of which very funny, it is still unclear for the most part, but I'll join Electes in saying that indeed it looks like an ode to the "fuck you" they play so well.

I have no idea about the cover, but I like how this sounds going by your review - ty.

My pleasure. I linked the last few words of the review to a song, in case you missed it and want to try before the release of the album .

Not too sure if it's your thing, but it wouldn't hurt to try, its sole energy and groove might win you over!

How would you define crust punk exactly? Still kinda unsure as to what one should be expecting to hear exactly when they see that label.

This is one very good historical example of crust punk. It's basically punk played faster, harsher, and usually lo-fi. Its name really goes well with what it sounds like.

I see. Some pretty nice grit to that track

The guy electrocuted while charging his cell phone. His bed burnt, someone close to him got escape somehow, didn't run because he'll be arrested for killing so he put his friend's body in white cover and then hanged it from the boxing pole, took a photograph and ran.

I really think it should be one of the band members.

Okay, I talked to the band at Temples Fest, and I actually got the answer to my question.

The picture is taken from an archive book of unresolved/old cases from the Danish police. The man on the picture is hanging from a home-made wooden swing, dead, as he covered his head with a benzine drenched cloth while masturbating, and lost control of it all. It's a cute case of auto-erotic-asphyxiation gone wrong.
