Oh boy, someone made a big mistake, they send a Nu-Metal Cd to me? yep, one of the most loathed words in Metal history, Nu-Metal, let's think about that?why people hate Nu-metal? I think I know why, because, it contains the word Metal in it's definition, and surely this isn't Metal, I wonder if things were different if this genre had another name, I once heard the term Aggro, (from aggressive, aggression), to name this music a long ago, when the first bands of Nu-Metal appeared (Korn, Limp Biskit, Deftones), how it managed to evolve to Nu-Metal? Have no idea.

I must be honest here, I don't like Nu-Metal at all, although I have a peculiar past with this genre, in the year 1996, I received a tape from a band called Korn, unknown at the moment, when I listened it I really liked, was aggressive music full of anger and angst. Then came the second album with I didn't liked a bit, and then BAM! Nu-Metal bands everywhere, Nu-Metal galore! Well, I had it, I'm tired of these bands.

Before I start with the music I have to say that I don't understand why an ever-growing label as Scarlet Records would sign a Nu-Metal band, they have such great Metal acts, why sign a Nu-Metal act? If you see all the excellent releases from the Italian label, you'll see that Seethings doesn't fit in the bunch.

As for the music.. what can you expect from these guys, the typical formula, angst-driven vocals, down tuned guitars, not one guitar solo, chunka-chunka riffs etc etc, found no good tunes at all. Maybe this is my inner head-bashing Metalhead speaking here, but I don't like Nu-Metal, so I can't mention any song that I liked, and after this review, I don't thing I'll be listening this record too often, if you know what I mean (yes, you know).

Sometimes is hard to be impartial with genres that you don't like, but Seethings didn't do anything for me, they just took a precious hour of my life, that won't happen again.
