Progressive Metal is always hard to review, because of the complexity and intricacy of the melodies, I find this genre ever-changing in their zillion forms.
Anyway, Daedalus is a Progressive Metal band hailing from Italy, "Leading Far From A Mistake" is an strange album, full of complex musicianship and weird tempo breaks.

My biggest problem with this album is the length of the songs, clocking between 6 and 10 minutes, some tend to get boring or in some cases, too messy.
Vocals are a highpoint in this album although I though the voice was thrown to much in the front in the mix, besides that, vocals are great.

Several listens were required before I even knew what to say about this album, and still I don't get it, don't get me wrong, I like Prog Metal , but sometimes some bands try to push the envelope to far and they end up doing some sort of strange musical experiment, this is not exactly the case, because the album has great moments like "Time" and "Raining", but the other songs tend to confuse me.

I think I'm more used to the "typical" Prog Metal, so this is not exactly my cup of tea, but as a good journalist I recognize talent when I hear it, and these guys have it. All of you Prog fans check this out, 'cause this album is leading far from being bad.

Daedalus was, according to some well-known myths, an inventor. He was the man behind the minotaur's labyrinth, as well as the father of Icarus, that you should know about.

So, when you're recieving a CD coming from a band called Daedalus, you're entitled to think that it's about creative music, as well as complex music. This thought seemed even more true as you read the band's bio, describing themselves as an Experimental Progressive act... will you get lost inside the labyrinth... Dare to step in, I'll be your guide.
