I really enjoyed this album (except the first song), and it shows that black metal is the most versatile genre that exists.

Love that they just do what they want to do, the world of music is richer because of musicians like this.

This one is a banger but dont let it distract you from the fact that Gucci Mane sampled Burzum

Any band that challenges black metal purists has my attention.
With that said, I agree with the review. This album is pretty good. I can hear a $uicideboy$ and Ghostmaine influence throughout and definitely want to see what they can bring next.

@ChapuLviz: Indeed, black metal is the genre that has evolved the most and it continues to do so. I love "WIMG" myself.
@The Entity: Exactly. If it weren't for musicians like Mora Prokaza we would only listen exclusively to Iron Maiden clones. And I am saying this while being one of the most "conservative" metalheads.
@Bad English: Read here.
@Radu: Next thing we know Cardi B will sample Napalm Death. I really don't like that Gucci Mane song though.
@HiddenDictator: I read everywhere about the Ghostmane influence. I do understand why and I also hear it but not that much.

I saw the instagram comment section when SoM posted a sample of WIMG and the vitriol that got spewed at them and the artist was insane.
Black metal may be versatile, but the elitism within is infantile.
I get it, you don't like it, you still have Mayhem and Emperor. Their albums still exist!

I haven't heard this yet nor do I have a strong desire to, mainly because trap music rarely satisfies my music cravings.
A black metal trip hop or black metal psybient hybrid would interest me a lot more, but I'll get around to this eventually if only to say I've listened to it. Maybe it'll take me by surprise.

Dunno how you'd really define "psybient" but for trip hop black metal scope Netra and Servants Of The Apocalyptic Goat Rave if you haven't already. Some of Mories's COA stuff can get quite trip hop-ish as well, especially that NONE EP

Lol reading the first paragraph I figured this was a Radu review
Good one though, Nik! Have yet to listen to it but your description definitely piques my interest and I can always go for more metal artists with a strong hip hop influence, as well as the opposite. From your writing and the comments it seems this could be a worthwhile and pretty fun addition to the collection

I've heard of literally zero of those names prior to your comment so it seems I have some new recommendations to check out. Perfect timing as I booked this week off.
As for psybient stuff, basically anything remotely similar to Carbon Based Lifeforms, Solar Fields/the HUVA Network, Ott, Vibrasphere... the uplifting and otherworldly soundscapes of psych-induced euphoria mixed with the myriad of black metal's raw emotions. The closest I've come across up till now has been the blackgaze scene but that's really only scratching the surface of what I'm after.
Maybe your suggestions will lead me to a more fulfilling exploration.

I also thought I was Radu when writing this
The truth is that normally either you or Radu or maybe even Kevin would review something like this. I am very surprised at how much I like it and at how many times I have listened to it. I think you will enjoy it too (make sure you check out their videos, they are sick as fuck, especially "").

Now all we have left is to blend black metal with funk, salsa, manele and nightcore.

For those asking about pysbient infused with black metal: https://xypnotisk.bandcamp.com/releases
One of my favorite releases this year. The black metal is almost non-existent, it's mostly pysbient with some BM-styled riffs in the back ground at times. But it's a great album!

Yeah, listening to the link now; someone else had a good shout earlier with Mesarthim, but this is a step or two further along the cyber/black metal path, basically psytrance with black metal riffs/chords on top. A lot of fun, but think there's probably some scope there to develop the fusion further on future records

You might have heard of them already, but Italians Progenie Terrestre Pura could be just what you are looking for. Although more influenced by science fiction and having somewhat 'cyber' like atmosphere at times, they offer plenty of sublime electronica moments throughout their first album. Also thanks to less aggressive vocals. The surrounding ambient mixes with the guitars almost perfectly at times.
They even released an EP called 'Asteroidi' which is a pure psybient / chillout with spacy atmo in the vein of Stellardrone.
Their second album as well as an EP are slightly more raw in sound, losing some of the balance between black and ambient/electronica but still retain the atmosphere.
