Conquestador is a young [and promising] Heavy Metal band from Holland. They use to play old school Heavy Metal in the vein of bands like, Maiden and Judas Priest for example.
This demo is really interesting because if you like real Heavy, you'll certainly like this band, and we will see why in that review.


There is only 4 songs in that demo cd, but I must admit that this is very well done. Why ? well because this guy do their music in the true spirit of the 80's, and that's cool today to hear again something which sound like the old days. At less it's not a new Power Metal band again. It's funny to see that today music in the vein of the 80's can be synonym of originality.
The music of Conquestador is heavy of course, with a lot of catchy guitars riff, and very good solo. Same for the drum which is really powerful and the line of Bass damn effective.
For the sing, at the first listening the voice of Wido can be strange, but more you'll listen the cd more you'll find something in his voice and at the end I must say that he is a really good singer.
With good lyrics, and good catchy chorus, the music of Conquestador is really effective, well done, and for sure this band can be place in the list of the promising young band.

The only bad point maybe could come from the sound. It's really correct and sound very professional for a demo, but it' miss the "strong" sound that a band which do such Heavy metal much have. But Well it's a demo and I'm sure that it could be better with their first album without any doubt. At the opposite, for the production, this demo is very well done, the cover is not the most beautiful that we can have but the lay out is well done and as I said it's very professional with lyrics etc and a cool booklet.


"Unconscious Tales" is a really good demo, a really good surprise, and Conquestador deserve to be know. This guys know music and for sure they are talented. If you like true Heavy Metal you could keep an eye on this band from Holland, because some good things could come with them in the future.
