Thork is a very original French band of Progressive Rock music. I have a lot of demo and auto-productions each months but I definitely don't have such things every weeks. Maybe even, this is the first time that I receive such production. Why ? Well, because this cd is one of the best unsigned band that I heard since a lot of time.
Thork use to play a very dark Progressive music with some Celtics or Oriental touch and the combination of all this style with the beautiful voice of the singer give a great and magical sound. No way Thork is a great band.


"Weila" is a real great surprise, this album has only seven tracks but all the songs are really beautiful. A lot of break with a lot of dark ambiences give a lot of power, a lot of depth to the music of Thork. At the end this mix of this progressive music with Oriental sounds and some Celtics/Folk breaks with violin do a great result.
If I must explain the music of Thork, I could say that the songs in general are very dark, very slow but always very well done with very great poetics lyrics [always in French]. There is a real work of composition with Thork and that, it's a real good point.
About the musicians, here again it's hard to find something wrong with them. The guitars riffs are perfect and the line of bass are damn present, damn effective. It's just an example with two instruments [and then of course with their musicians] but I could talk too about the numerous parts with the violin which give all its charm to the music of this excellent band.
The real strong point of Thork is certainly the excellent and beautiful voice of Sebastien Penel which can be very sad and low but also very high and damn beautiful. He is really a great singer, this band is lucky to have him in its Line-Up.

About the production, woaow!!! Congratulation dudes. A great Digipack with a great booklet a nice cover etc. But also an amazing professional sound, really it's same with the big production which come from big labels. Very good, well mixed etc, it's a great work again and it show how this band is serious and just good.


"Weila" is a masterpiece, no doubt on that point, Thork is one of the most promising Progressive rock band that I know. Without any doubt it's one of the most promising band from France too and this album must be known. If you like Progressive music [I don't talk here about Prog Metal like Symphony X or such bands, but about bands like Porcupine Tree etc] you must find this album, or at less prey some big labels to have a deal with this band.
No doubt here, with this album, we have something really good and if you like good music, please guys, you must try Thork they deserve to be known.
