De Anima is Gothic Metal band from Finland, cradle of many great Metal bands and a big Metal scene. First I must warn everyone that this is not exactly the most heavy release of the year, because De Anima combines Gothic Metal with some other genres, let's say from instance, Rock.

The band counts with a female vocalist , Ulla T. she has a good voice, even if she doesn't sing in high scales, her voice is sweet and she knows how to manage it.
The music itself is very melodic and not too heavy, keyboards are a very important part of the music of De Anima, and in some songs their utilization enhances the whole experience, like the piano lines in "There's Oil In My Soul" , which happens to be, my favorite track in the E.p.

The whole artwork and title is very clever, Inner Empty Place translates to Inner E.P., which is the format of this release, the whole heart shaped artwork is also cool.
While De Anima is not the only band doing this, their music is refreshing and contains some elements worth listening, (like the vocals and keyboards), Hopefully they'll develop their style a little bit further, and maybe one day they'll offer us a full length worth listening. Interesting E.P from these Finnish rockers, not the most creative and innovative release out there, but enjoyable.
