To Separate The Flesh From The Bones, damn what a name? I suppose that you understand that we are in front of a new Grindcore Metal band? To Separate The Flesh From The Bones (we will call them TSTFFTB the next time) come from Finland and the particularity of the band come from their members. Herr Arschstein (Pasi Koskinen) was a member of Amorphis, Rot Wailer (Niclas Etelävuori) was in Moonspel and Pus Sypope (Mika Karppinen) plays with HIM. You see it's a funny line-up I think for a Grind core band? But after all why not?

"Utopia Sadistica" the first album of the band, is not a bad album of Grind, but however it's average in my opinion. Not really bad, not really good, something just classic and a bit basic. However the riffs are not bad at all and really efficient, and the songs which suffer however of a really short length (that's not a surprise with Grind) are in general catchy. The problem comes with the originality. This is not really new and sometime we have the feeling that we're listening the same songs from the beginning to the end. But well is it not the problem of a majority of albums with more than 20 songs with an length for each tracks with an average of 30 sec? I think so unfortunately...
I must be clear however, the musical composition of the songs is good I say it again this album is not bad, but just a bit too comon to my ears?
TSTFFTB is not a bad band, their first album is promising in the style, but really they need to add a bit of originality in their music, if they want to become a really important band of the category. I hardly doubt however that this combo is a real serious one, and I suppose that it's maybe like a "break" for the musicians, and in that case that's not a bad one?
The production is also very nice, that's a good point of the CD, but the length of the album 27 mins is clearly a bit too short for me? I hope that we could have some albums a bit longer in this musical style in the future?
Note at the end, that Jeff Walker of Carcass makes a special appearence on the album, isn't it cool?

Well well, for the one who really want all the Grindcore releases, the first TSTFFTB is not a bad investing, but for all the others of course if you are curious to see this line up which plays Grind, have a look on this album, but musically, there is some better albums of Grindcore.
