Even if "Different Stories" is the 2nd album of Inner Chaos (after "Neopolis" in 2003) I just discovered them lately with their new album. And I'm ashamed, I'm ashamed because I was missing one of the best bands from my country and really I deserve some punishments for that. At least I have the luck now to listen to their new album and I wish to all the fans of Progressive Metal, to do the same because we are in front of a little Metallic jewel?

"Different Stories" is a killer album of Progressive Metal. Really dark, the album flirt with Gothic and Atmospheric music but it doesn't fall into the clichés of the genres. Of course this is Progressive music above all, but these little touches of "dark" music are all really interesting for the listeners and anyway the music is just so good, that all the songs are all really catchy, beautiful and touching. Don't misunderstand me, this band is a progressive act which is not really far away of a Dream Taster and I even find some little similitude with a Queensrÿche but a bit darker... Also, I think that I know why this band is so good, we have an excellent singer (who is also the only guitarist of the band and a good one?) with a really beautiful voice and some other musicians who, through their excellent musical play, gives a lot of emotions to the music of the band.
The songs are all really good and catchy, some of its will be powerful, some others will be sad and melancholic (with a lot of piano), but every time, we have a general super ambiance that does that this album is a really good one.
The production of "Different Stories" is also perfect with a great recording a cool booklet (a bit classic maybe) and all that you want to have (lyrics, pisc etc) when you buy a new album?

At the end, we are in front of a little band without any pretensions which produce an album that only some few famous bands are able to release sometime. This is a killer album, a great release by a young French band which deserves all our attention. I have the luck to listen to a lot of new albums every week, but I don't find a lot of such quality, then you know what to do know, if you like such music, that's just a must for you.
