"Tromentation" is only the 3rd album actually of Torment a German Thrash Metal band that started his career with their first demo in 1986. After a break of seven years and their last album "Not Dead Yet", the combo is back in the scene. If you like Thrash Metal with however a little touch of Punk, without any doubt this album will be a must for you.

When I listen this album actually, I have good and bad feelings. The good ones come from the really nice classic Thrash tracks like "New World Terror" for example with a really speedy and aggressive riff and the good soli, the perfect Thrash sound. On the other hand, a song like "P.C.(Porn Casting)" with a really easy and commercial chorus sounds too much Punk for me. I think that I don't even have to say which of the two songs I prefer and I suppose that it will be the same for you. That's the problem of this album, that's clearly unequal some songs are good some others are not so impressive. Of course all the songs are catchy especially the choruses but it's not always a synonym of quality? you know what I mean.

But at least this album is really nice produced (you can even find a Video on it) the sound is clean but in the true Thrash spirit recording and the 17 songs of the albums are ok, excepted this "Punk" problem that I don't really like, but I'm sure that some of you will appreciate it. Actually that's just a mater of taste, the ones who like basic and classic Thrash can be disappointed, and the others will find it interesting.

At the end this album is a good album of Thrash especially for some tracks but you already know it some others are a bit average for me, then really that's up to you and above all to your tastes. If you're not bored by Thrash that sounds a bit too much Punk, then no problem, but if you're a bit afraid of it, that's different and I encourage you to check and listen to "Tromentation" before anything else.
