I won't hesitate to say this could be one of the greatest Death Metal Acts from Mexico, Roots Of Rot is one of those bands with a lot of inconceivable talent and technicality, both things mixed with brutality and aggression, this album is by far one of the best releases in Mexican Death Metal for sure.

The "unpredictable" factor in "Hated Flesh" is what gives incredible surroundings to the album, I mean, let's take the first track for example "Hellcity Fall", here we have a nice Technical Death metal tune, the aggressiveness is all over the track but we can also hear crazy ascending guitar solos and some awesome bass-lines in the end; then we have tracks like "Morbid Kind Of Flesh" (The best track in this album for sure) with different tempo and different structures(the closure for this track is shivering believe me), the guitarist adds some awesome scales to the tune and of course amazing leads, the vocalist work is just unbelievable(not only in this track but in the whole album), José Rot sounds really deep in his vocal work, much like Frank Mullen(Suffocation) or David Vincent (Morbid Angel).

There is no bad track in "Hated Flesh", here you can find the best riffing a band can present and of course what we all love, difficult and long guitar solos; the drumming is spectacular as well, not the classic fast as diarrhea drum-beat with no point, this time we have complex beats and irregular timing, so, yes the drumming is fast as hell, and yes the drumming is fucking Brutal, but damn it's complex and multifaceted. There is also the bass player, there are a lot of incredible bass-lines hidden in the depths of this album (The producer could have added some extra volume to the low tones, but still the album sounds loud and clear) and damn there are some small Bass solos that add so much intensity and cool irregularity to the album. So every single member in Roots Of Rot provides the best they can offer musically and practically speaking (so imagine how incredible the songwriting is).

This band has a lot of incredible things to propose, this album is really a masterpiece with zero flaws in the music and a lot of great moments in general, the music sounds polished and structured as hell, even the lyrical work is marvelous so we can tell this is a truly professional band willing to go further in the Metal scene, I highly recommend this release to everyone, so go now, search for this CD and buy it instantly.

Recommended If You Like: Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Malevolent Creation.
