(As my user name indicates, I am a dedicated Ozzy Osbourne fan. But I promise that this will not cloud my review of this record.)

The Ozzman returns! 6 whole, long years after the release of his last album "Ozzmosis", Ozzy Osbourne creates a brand new record, the album of his old age!
At 53 years old, many people believed that he should "retire" from the heavy metal roller -coaster. However the energy he gets from his fans is just too much for him to ignore! He jumps back into action, showing us all that he's here, and he's here to stay.

On the album cover, there is a full body x-ray of Ozzy, making the peace sign. Ozzy is the biggest pacifist on the planet, as we all know! His x-ray is the only one in the history of science with his tattoos clearly visible!
I went out and bought "Down To Earth" the moment it was released. One of the best decisions I ever made!
Despite Ozzy's age, his singing abilities have not changed a bit. He still sings very passionately in his banshee-like wail! The lyrics are very personal and have been thought threw very carefully giving them a poetic feeling.
The guitar riffs are very powerful and heavy, especially on "Gets me through", "Facing hell", and "Alive". But what really blew me away, guitar wise, were the solos.
Completely breathtaking! Fast and furious, as they had "ZakkWylde" written all over them!
This album contains both dreamy ballads and pure, heavy metal songs.
A track that's stands out a lot is the beautiful ballad "Dreamer". It really makes you want to get your lighter out and wave it above your head! The chorus is very majestic and deep, and the guitar solo gives me chills every time I hear it! Another ballad, "Running out of time", doesn't compare to dreamer, but is still a beautiful song that's brings out the best in Ozzys voice.
The best thing about "Down to earth", is that you can put it on, and just listen to the whole thing from beginning to end without skipping or fast-forwarding once!
You can't do that with many records?

Over all, "Down To Earth" is a fantastic album. One of Ozzys finest I might add! The songs are just so addictive. Very loud. Very deep. Very heavy. Be prepared to be blown away?

A decent effort, but to rate it a 9 is too much IMO; the album is far from excellent if you ask me.
