It's always good to receive albums from the Czech Label I.FA. Records because actually they always have a lot of good bands from the Czech Republic and it's always cool to have the luck to discover this kind of bands. A new example comes with Mater Monstifera a band that plays a classic and not really original Atmospheric Symphonic Black Metal but let's be honest a good one.

Yeah well it's not really original I have to confess it but on the other hand it's a solid album of Black Metal, especially if you like all the bands like Dimmu Borgir, Anorexia Nervosa and etc. The recipe is always the same, great atmospheres, symphonic ambiances in addition of the aggressive parts of the Black Metal. And actually, it's good to listen to this album, the songs are catchy, the realization is more than correct and my only regret comes from the lack of originality, especially when you see that the band has a lot of potentiality. Only deaf or people who really can't stand this kind of music will say the opposite. On the other hand, and it's a good thing, the band chose to sing in Czech, then well I don't understand anything but this is new at least for me.

The production is ok but not so perfect and sometime it's a bit hard to listen to all the numerous sounds on the CD. Also, you must know that we don't have real drums on this album and this is a machine that tries to replace them and it's ok actually, even if I don't like such process, it's ok.

Then, I can only recommend this good album of melodic Black Metal to all the ones who like this kind of declination in this music. This is a solid release and I believe that some people will like it. On the other hand I don't think that it will be easy for you to find it but if you have this luck?
