After his last album with Chain, "Chain.exe" Henning Pauly is back with his new solo project and the album "Credit Where Credit Is Due". A bit more punchy and "groovy" than his work with Chain, this release follow however the same road than the others project, bands and whatever else of the master. It's Prog as hell but above all it rocks? No doubt this guy is good?

No doubt that "Credit Where Credit Is Due" is a lot more aggressive than "Chain.exe" here you'll find some great guitars riffs with heavy tempo. On the other hand it's still Prog Metal and on a side you'll find a lot of similarities between the two projects. I mean that there is always some "folksish" (I'm talking about acoustic and folk guitars here) sounds some really musical breaks or catchy choruses but let's be honest it's a bit more heavy this time. Is it bad? Of course no?

With an excellent production, with some real hits like "Cure The Breach" (even if it can sound a bit Nu Metal) or "Scheisslautundhartwiedreck" a pure aggressive an Thrashy song, with a bunch of great musicians and singer, "Credit Where Credit Is Due" is a solid album and I understand why a lot of reviewer did some good reviews for this album. Plus it's really diversified and not linear and above all this is not a Prog Metal that sounds elitist and intellectual, this is something that a lot of people, Metalheads or not, will enjoy.

I really like this album that shows all the talent of Henning Pauly. If you don't know him yet I hope that you'll try this release and you'll understand why I'm saying that it is a must. Really good this release will finish in the top list of the progressive release of the year 2005.
