I will be honest, I use to listen to a lot of Progressive music but this is the first time that I heard something played by Henning Pauly. And you know what? I feel like an idiot now and I'm really ashamed but well I promise that it will change it, yes it will change.

Henning Pauly comes from Germany but he live in the USA and it gave to him the luck to meet some interesting musicians. If Henning has several project, there are however two important ones, Frameshift (where you'll hear James Labrie on the first one and Sebastian Bach on the 2nds releases) and Chain. Today we will talk about Chain and their last release "Chain.exe".

Chain is a real band composed of some really talented musicians and they use to play a really nice and emotional Progressive music. Mixing Jazz, Folk music and evidently Rock and Metal "Chain.exe" is incredibly beautiful. Actually the more I listen to it the more I love it and I know the reason now, this is this kind of album that give you shivers, yes this is full of emotion.

First the singer Matt Cash is really impressive and his sweet voice will catch your attention, I'm sure of it. But also Henning and his mates knew how to produce something really catchy, I mean that the melodies are perfect in general and it's hard to be bored by any of the songs of this album. Though you must know that that there is a really sad but cool main melody that you'll find during all the length of the album and it give something to the album.

So ok, this album is really cool and a bit soft if you're a fan of Metal in general but if you're open minded and want something just beautiful you can't miss this release. I say it again and I'm probably a bit repetitive but this album is just beautiful so I'm sure that the ones who like Prog Rock will love "Chain.exe". Too bad that I missed this one in 2004 because it was probably one of the best Prog release of the year, but I will do a promise today, since today I will check every new release of Mr Henning Pauly, and you should do the same?
