When I first read some words about this young band from Belgium, I was actually more than convinced that it was something good, or at least interesting for me. They said "Post Hardcore" so I was expecting something good and surprising a la Burst. When I got the CD, my deception was extremely high because Lost In Rhone isn't in any way a new band of Post Hardcore. They just play a basic Emo/Metalcore, not the worst music on Earth but without any single touches of originality. This band isn't bad, though they still need to work a bit?

Maybe that I sound like a naughty snake, but honestly I invite you all to listen to "Beloved Be The Ones Who Sit Down" and you'll quickly understand that this band from Belgium just plays a basic Emo / Metal that we can listen to everyday 24/24 on MTV 2. Of course, Lost In Rhone isn't a bad band in the style, and in any way I will blame the musical quality of the musicians but I'm sorry, their music is totally lifeless. Some of you will believe that I'm an "anti" Nu Metal or Metalcore, well sorry guys, I'm not like that and to be honest I enjoy bands like Killswitch Engage or The Dillinger Escape Plan but even if I'm sure that Lost In Rhone is able to good music like these two confirmed bands, they're not doing it on their first album.

Musically speaking, "Beloved Be The Ones Who Sit Down" is a mix of Metal, Hardcore, Punk and Pop. And Punk and Pop music are even the main musics of the CD. The riffs are basic (like with Emo and Punk), catchy, that's right I can't deny it, but it's a bit minimalist and simplistic at the end. Plus when you know that the length of the album is only of 37 minutes, you probably understand that structure of the songs is short and not so complex. At the end, there is just nothing new with this album, nothing bad too, but it's just really average?

This CD is a deception. I was waiting for a good album, and I'm just in front of an average release. Of course, if you're a fan of the style, you should have a look on it but all the others who want good music a la Burst can pass their way. For the fans of the style only?
