After a good last album "Second To None" released on Brennus Music in 2003, Wildwest the French specialist of US Hard Rock and its label decided to release a live album. "Live In The West" was recorded in 2004 and will probably be a good release for the fans of the band, however everything is not perfect and well it will probably be only for the fans of the combo?

"Live In The West" is not a bad live. The tracklist (with two exceptions however) is the same one than the one of the last album. And it was a good album of Hard "Bluesy" Rock and the songs, even if we don't have some real killers, are all interesting in the style. So if you like good Hard Rock, if you like strong guitars riffs and aren't afraid of old school music, or if you're just a fan of the band you'll probably enjoy the CD.

On the other hand, I'm a bit disappointed by the release because something is missing...What? Well, I'm talking about the good production that we must have on a live recording. Where is the public here? Can you tell me why the sound is so perfect that we have the feeling that we're listening to a studio album? All these little mistakes aren't really important on a side, I mean that at least we can hear something but it's lacking of charm if you see what I mean. Note also that it's short, only 44 minutes and that the singer is Andre Fuciarelli, who left the band in 2005. Even if he is not a bad singer, let me tell you that the new one is definitely better and a lot more powerful during the lives?

At the end, I cannot say that "Live In The West" is a bad release but something is missing and in my opinion this is not something essential. Note however that the label decided to release this CD with a cool nice price (11?). It's definitely not expensive so if you like the band?
