Do you remember the famous Annihilator album, "Alice In Hell"? Well probably since that it's one of the classic albums of the Thrash Metal history. Maybe that you also remember some of the musicians who were in the line up of the band for the recording of this album. Stress Factor 9 is actually the new project of the drummer Ray Hartmann and the vocalist Randy Rampage, and don't worry they still play Thrash, real Thrash!

Let be honest, if you're looking for something new and original with this album, you can go away but if you like old school Thrash that's evidently really different. "Brainwarp Mindspin" is a pure album of Thrash, which means that you'll find this Punk spirit on all the songs. It's fast and furious aggressive and all the songs are real blasts, but evidently except for the really good guitars soli, it's also really basic. That's a good and a bad thing. Good because those songs are just super effective, it's a real "in your face" album, but on the other hand it can be a bit "poor" (if I can use this word) sometime. Let's say at the end that Stress Factor probably chose to play an offensive music, not something technical and really deep.

But well it's perfectly records, the musicians are all really good, and some of the lyrics were even written by the same authors than the one of "Alice In Hell". Also, the voice of Randy Rampage is clearly on this album. I know that a lot of people were not so happy of his voice on "Alice In Hell" but be sure that now his "thrash" voice is really good. If some songs can be a bit boring and not so original, some others like "Home Sweet Grow" are super effective and the fans of Thrash Metal will probably enjoy them especially if you like "Punk" Thrash a la Death Angel.

"Brainwarp Mindspin" isn't the best release of Thrash Metal and it won't become a classic because there is nothing new here but it's solid as rock and since that we didn't get anything really outstanding yet this year, I really believe that all the ones who like this music should try this album. I don't know if our guys will continue their journey into the Thrash Metal world but if they do it and after this first promising album, we will probably get something great soon or later. Randy Rampage and Hartmann are back and that's not for nothing!
