Trepan'Dead knocked me out badly with this album; while I was expecting the usual Grindcore release they delivered Brutal Deathgrind with awesome structures. The thing that amazes me the most is their current status, these French guys released this album without any record deal; normally you'd expect a self-release to be kind of average or amateurish right? WRONG, Trepan'Dead created a decent production with good music as well. Now let's talk about their album a little more.

The opener is straight as a fucking arrow; there is no introduction or any archetypical melody or whatever, they just started the album as fast and as brutal as they could with "Just A Little Incision" making your ears bleed profusely. The whole album is managed like this actually, fast as hell music mixed with brutal riffs and shivering dual vocals; this is not a bad feature, Trepan'Dead was smart enough to create a polished songwriting, the album never becomes boring or monotonous, on the contrary, it actually keeps the listener interested to the very end.

This is their debut full length of course, so obviously you won't get total perfection or the masterpiece of your life, the band has to polish their sound, loose the screws a little bit and I really think they'll do better with a more versatile pattern as most tracks have the same pace actually (except "Obsession" which is an instrumental masterpiece with variations all over the place); but surely this band is better than the usual stuff we're used to hear in the genre, actually, they surpass most of the debuts I've heard this year.

I truly like their lyrical content as well; they talk about revolution and life in a mild yet shocking manner, just read the magnificent (and smart) lyrics in "Suffer From Premature Ejaculation" or the aggressive content in "Human Truth" and you'll see what I mean. You'll definitely dig this album if you're into Whorecore, Brutal Truth, or even Våld; their music is more chaotic and brutal than the aforementioned bands though; So stay tuned as I'm sure Trepan'dead will be a huge name in a not so distant future.

Best Tracks: "Obsession", "With Great Of Pickaxe Handle", "Just A Little Incision"
