"Warside" is the first album of a really good and promising combo from Lyon (France), Whisper-X. After three great demos, the time to release a first album was coming and Whisper-X chose to release their first album this year (and strangely I don't understand why this band didn't find any label, at least in France). If you like great technical Grindcore, this album will be for you!

Whisper-X; plays Grindcore but their music is not basic and at the opposite extremely technical. Even if the album is a bit short (just count 29 mins of music) you'll be able to see that our French guys are able to play a really nice technical extreme Death Metal. Take some Grindcore vocals with some furious rhythms and finally add some killer guitars riffs and you can understand how it sounds. That's a fact the guys of Whisper-X know how to play Metal and it's a good thing because they found the way to write an album of Grindcore which can be listened to by all the Metalheads. The ones who are not into this musical style will not have the feeling that they're just listening sound, even if actually "Warside" is extremely violent.

All in all, "Warside" is a good first album really. Its production for a self-released album is incredibly good, with a perfect sound and a great booklet. The songs are intelligent and even if the tittles are a bit, you know "too much" the lyrics are nice and well written. Only the length of the album is a bit disturbing but it's a trend with Grindcore releases anyway. Maybe that this kind of music can be a bit boring for some of you in the end but really it's only a matter of taste and trust me, all the ones who like Grind like Death Metal will like this release, I'm sure of it.

"Warside" is a great first album! If Whisper-X can confirm all these great feelings in a near future, I can tell you that we will hear a lot of good things about this combo. To sum up, if you like cool technical Grindcore, please have a look on the first album of Whisper-X, for sure this is a great surprise.

Good band from my city (looks like the area I live in is a kind of breeding ground for amazing metal bands - Benighted, The Seven Gates, Destinity, Beyon D Lusion and now Whisper-X)

When I heard the name I was expecting some doom death stuff, not this brutal death album lol. Their music reminds me a lot of Morbid Angel's early releases mixed with grindcore. Catchy stuff, I like this album a lot.

Oh and I agree about the songtitles. It's like they picked the most used terms in death metal and made titles out of them lol.
