"Angling Feelings" is the new album of our favorite "progressive" hippies from Sweden Kaipa. And as always, the band uses to play a mix of psychedelic music, with folk sonorities and rock. It's a bit special and sound a bit like something which comes from the 60s (and a bit like the music of Arjen Lucassen actually) but it's cute and cool and really, if you want to listen to some peaceful music, "Angling Feelings" is just for you!

Kaipa plays progressive rock and the new album follows this fact. The music of "Angling Feelings" is a bit atmospheric, full of nice cool riff and catchy choruses and of course full of superb keyboards and guitars soli. The music is complex with long songs which all have a lot of breaks and really changing structures. It's complex but not boring too, it's soft rock and the melodies are nice in general. We also have three different vocalists so on a side, this album is a bit like an Ayreon (especially when you know that the band use a lot the same sound than Lucassen with their keyboards). It's cool and everything, not outstanding too and yes I didn't find a song which can be considered like a real hit but it's well done and pleasant.

With Kaipa, I hope that you're not looking for something formatted because definitely it's not. The music of the band is original and flirts with Metal, like Rock or even Folk (we have a lot of parts with flutes). Really, when I listened to this album, I smiled because it's a really happy and cute music. Not dark, but at the opposite really positive it's something different of our Metal standards and well, in the end it's cool and refreshing to listen to this album. It's maybe not outstanding but it's surprising and will please all the ones who are a bit open-minded.

"Angling Feelings" is a "sweety" album, something full of happy sentiments and it's cool to listen to something like that sometime. It's not for all the metalheads too but if you like good progressive Rock, this is probably something for you. With "Angling Feelings" you'll pass a nice musical moment…

For those of you who haven't heard Kaipa - check out the older albums! I actually dont like the "metal" influences, I just don't get the mix of Kaipa and metal. I think the guitarrist from Scar Symmetry is playing on this one? o_O
Get some of their albums from the 70's instead The other "new" ones is also good
