The founders of the "Alcoholic Metal", the German thrashers of Tankard will release this year a new compilation. Like Destruction and their "Thrash Anthems", AFM records and the band chose to re-record their best tracks. It's always the same problem some of you will like the idea, some others will say that it's a shame and that the first versions are always better but all in all, this is a good compilation, and well we all like beers anyway right?

I don't really have to present Tankard one more time. Of all the German Thrash bands, the combo is probably the less famous one but damn they're not bad at all, at the opposite. With their cool mix of Thrash and Punk and of course with a ton of funny and not serious lyrics (which talk in general about beer and many other "funny" things) Tankard is an amazing bands live and if you like them or not you cannot deny that at least, they know how to play a really "living" music. It's basic Thrash on a side but it's catchy as hell and all their songs, especially the ones of this compilation, are good and perfect to headbang. If you don't know this band yet and want to listen to some fun and hyper motivating Thrash, just have a look on this release and you'll be able to discover a great band.

Now if I have to talk of this re-recording, I must say that the sound is perfect but of course some of you will still prefer the "old" versions. It's ok here in my opinion because Tankard have never been a band which was aggressive like Destruction or Kreator and the fact that the sound is clean as hell fits really well to their music. The new recording didn't remove any kind of anger because it was not dark and blurry anyway and yes, for me, thsi compilation is a must for the fans. Note by the way that you'll have a second CD with the compilation, a cool album full of covers done by some famous bands like Manticora or Sacred Steel.

If you like Tankard and want t o buy a nice compilation, please have a look on "Best Case Scenario: 25 Years In Beers". The CD is good, full of funny songs and even if the band chose to re-record all their songs, they didn't "remove" their identity. "Best Case Scenario: 25 Years In Beers" is a perfect album for your summer, be sure that with this CD, you'll be able to party and drive your car in the best classy way ever!!!

Why you never put scores on the reviews?

By not rating the album, you force people to read the review, rather than look at the rating and base their ranting comments around that. It's a much better system, IMO.

Jeff usually does give ratings. I think he didn't give this one a rating because it is a compilation album. Usual;ly compilations aren't given scores.

Tankard is a really cool band, and they have been around pretty long right now, so I might get the album. I'd like to hear the re-recorded versions of the songs.
