On the front of the promo version of this album, you can read "Feat. Mike Vallely / Skate God!!!". When I read that for the first time I just said to myself, "Who care?" because after all even if it was the Metal band of David Beckham it wouldn't mean that it was an amazing release? Whatever, this kind of commercial argument are a bit cheesy but at least even if it's never a good sign, it doesn't mean too that you cannot have good surprise. Here, I didn't have any surprise nor bad or good and finally this is not so bad to have this feeling, at least I didn't listen to some garbage music?

Despite its name, Revolution Mother will never be revolutionary but I don't think that the guys want to be like that anyway. I mean that Mike Vallely and his three mates just want to play music for fun and because they like to play music. "Glory Bound", their first album, is extremely conventional and really common, the music of Revolution Mother is a basic Punk Rock which is influenced by bands like Suicidal Tendencies or even AC/DC for its Hard Rock side. It's punchy, it's catchy and yes it's probably perfect to listen to it when you're in the street with your skate board but except this little argument I cannot say that it will be an album that I will listen to again and again in the future. "Glory Bound" is this kind of Punk Metal release which will be fun during a day and no more. It's not bad but a bit too simple for me and with time it can become quickly boring?

"Glory Bound" has a good production with a good sound. I didn't find any real bad song on this album and the performance of the musicians is correct. The voice of Mike Vallely is not really beautiful but it's Punk/Metal music so he doesn't have to sing very well and anyway his way to shout the vocals fits perfectly to the music. No really despite this big feeling of déjà-vu and "nothing new here" "Glory Bound" is not a terrible album too. It's correct but really conventional?

With "Glory Bound", Revolution Mother releases a correct album of Punk Metal. It's not surprising at all but if you like this kind of music (or if you're just a fan of Mike Vallely?) you can go for this one but the other ones who want to listen to real complex Metal will not find any interest in this album. For fans only.
