I've had this album in my dirty hands for over 2 months now, I've placed it frequently and each time I hear it I love the tracks and I worship the experience, but somehow once the final track ends I just forget about its existence?

This album suffers of what we (reviewers) use to call "lack of memorable songs"; the songs are way good as a whole and the album as a "one nights stand" experience is very juicy, but that's the major deal withThe Hidden Hand, you won't be praising to repeat the CD over and over again, a dismal allegory would be the following: do you remember Radiohead's Kid A? the band did an album that's only good if you play it from the beginning to the very end as the songs have a linked soul instead of an individual one, most people just remember one or two songs of that so called Epic album, that's exactly what happens to "Resurrection of Whiskey Foote", the album is just incredible when you play it as a whole, but not everyone has the time or the spirit to sit for 43 minutes everyday as far as I know.

To be honest it's quite difficult to review an album with such an odd end to it; in a very objective and orthodox way this band plays Stoner Metal with a very dark atmosphere, the leader of this band is non other than Scott "Wino" Weinrich from that band we all used to love called Spirit Caravan, this new outfit has just a couple of brush-strokes from that old doomy and chilling band, but generally speaking The Hidden Hand focuses on a softer and more digestible kind of music, it's still quite lethargic at some turns but overall it's full of dynamism in a very darky/happy way.

All in all Scott "Wino" did a great job with this record, the band has a lot of good ideas and they do execute each and every one of them perfectly. I doubt they'll be gaining new fanatics or at least new ears with this piece though, but their loyal base will be pleased without a doubt; so this is one of those "one way only" albums, good music and interesting approaches, not surprisingly astonishing but it is for sure a good and entertaining listen.
