Nowadays, a lot of bands which were categorized in the Nu Metal category play Metalcore (or are categorized as Metalcore bands). Some others, like the French of Elements, aren't afraid to mix these two different music and for sure "Nos Corps Perdus", the first album of the combo is a convincing release especially if you like this kind of music.

All the people who come from France probably know Watcha. This French Nu Metal band was really famous (not so much now) some years ago in the county and actually Element sounds a bit like them with in addition a lot of In Flames and Soilwork touches! It can be weird for you maybe to join Watcha to In Flames but the two bands aren't so different in the end (of course I'm talking about In Flames' last albums?) and Element is a good musical bridge between those two combos. The singer sings in French with a voice a bit "Hardcore" the riffs are heavy and loud not really fast it's more something in the vein of Souflly if you see what I mean. But we also have some electronics sounds on some ballads like on some really aggressive songs (a bit like Mass Hysteria). Yeah, that's a lot of comparisons I agree but just because Element plays a really varied music and uses a lot of influences to create its own personal sound finally. It's really convincing, especially if you like to listen to French Metal.

A song like "Fracasse" is a real hit (and this is not the only good track of the album), so ok maybe that it's a bit commercial on a side but it's really accessible and with its nice production "Nos Corps Perdus" is a real good first album. If Element is able to follow this road, I'm sure that they will find a large audience at least in France?

Be aware that you must like the French Nu Metal scene to enjoy a lot "Nos Corps Perdus". But on the other hand I'm not into this kind of music and I really enjoyed listening to this album, so in my opinion it's a really good sign! If the fans of the genre needed a band to give some new vibes to their favorite music, I can tell to them that they don't have to wait anymore, Element is here! "Nos Corps Perdus" is a really nice and pleasant album and I have to congratulate Element for such a good release.
