324 is a Grindcore Japanese band and "Rebelgrind", which was released first in 2006 on the label HG Fact, is their second album. Now this is the famous Feto Records which release this CD and of course it will be a good way for the band to be discovered all around the world. "Rebelgrind" is a good Grindcore release but I just regret that this release is a bit too repetitive?

Musically speaking, "Rebelgrind" is not bad at all! This release is a good old Grindcore CD, this is heavy of course and the riffs and tempos are hyper fast but all in all we have good groovy music on this release. This is real Grindcore with different influences which come from Death, Hardcore and Punk. This is well done and seriously I think that the fans of old school Grindcore should be interested by "Rebelgrind". I cannot say that "Rebelgrind" is revolutionary but at least the music of this Japanese band is honest and catchy finally. Despite the fact that the album and the songs are short, I'm sure that a lot of metalheads who like to listen to Death or Grind of course, will enjoy this release, especially if they like Punk attitude.

Though, I have a little problem with "Rebelgrind". In my opinion, the vocals suck a lot. I'm not talking about the voice of Masao Yamamoto which is more than correct actually but more about the rhythm of his vocals. Here this is just mega monotonous and super repetitive. When you'll listen to the album you'll just have the feeling that the songs are all different but that the vocals are all the same. So for sure I was not expecting superb vocals on this Grindcore release but really just have a look on it and you'll understand why I'm saying that these vocals are boring. Too bad, but at least this is the only problem of the album which have a great production and a bunch of classy Grindcore songs.

If you like old school Grindcore, "Rebelgrind" will be a must for you. Despite its really repetitive vocals; the album features great songs and excellent melodies. Now that it will be easy to buy this album, maybe that 324 will become famous outside of Japan who know? At least I recommend it to the fans of Grindcore and Death Metal, if you can forget the vocals, I'm sure that you'll like "Rebelgrind".

This is my favourite album from 2006, simply as that... there are very few things I like more in this life than the japanese way to be sick.
