Since the bands release of their demo, "Born Into Death", Lucifixion always worked hard to get new material down, practicing daily. In Northwest Ohio, USA the area is not very well for the metal scene, especially Death Metal. I live in that area, and I can say that Lucifixion is one of the only Death Metal bands I know of around here. When they released "Indulge In The Macabre" it really paid off for their hard work.

This album really holds the pure old school elements of Death Metal. What I really notice in this album is the drumming. Usually when it comes to extreme metal bands you have the casual expected blastbeats and double bass drumming. When you take up to multiple positions in a band, vocals and drumming, you can't exactly perform at your fullest capability when it comes to multitasking or else you screw one thing up or the other. Jeremiah takes control of his skills during multitasking in this album and displays drumming that one usually won't expect. The guitars hold the heavy overly-distorted sound to give that raw sound in the album. The guitarists that helped make this album possible use a lot of the "chugga chugga" effects in the songs, but they also do a great job at keeping steady rhythm. The lyrics hold a solid feeling of gore and gruesomeness and horror, like old school Death Metal. Of course, not all the songs are about gore and destruction, which would get boring right?

This album has a lot of melody and rhythm, unlike most Death Metal bands that go all out on their musician skills. I wouldn't say that I don't like this, its just different to my tastes when I listen to Death Metal. One of the things that I don't like about this album is that on some of the songs the rythm is the same, and choppy, and it kind of gets boring. That's all I have to say on the downside of this album. This album is different from what one would expect in my views, in a good way. When it comes to uniqueness, this band goes for the win. Definitely worth giving a listen to!
