Well well what do we have in front of us today? A new combo made in France which plays Death (N'Roll) Thrash Metal with a female singer? Interesting isn't it? Sure this is just a first demo so it's not perfect yet but it's already promising in my opinion. Corrosive Elements is a young band but they're already doing all what they need to do to be recognized and maybe signed later, including good music of course!

What I like the most in this demo is the fact that our guys and gal play something which is not so trendy actually. When you have a female singer in general this is gothic / symphonic stuff or Gothenburg Death a la Arch Enemy but here, the main influence is without any doubt Entombed. The four songs are all aggressive with a vocalist who knows how to grunt (she is not perfect but obviously she will become better with time, I can feel it already!) and with cool groovy riffs. It's violent of course but we have good technical guitar soli in addition of Rock N Roll melodies. This is a bit like Entombed then but there is also a strong Thrash influence and some guitar soli sound a bit like the tortured ones of bands like Slayer. All in all the four songs are good even if the ones who are the most influenced by Rock ("Loser" and "Chaos Unleashed") are the best and grooviest ones for me.

So ok, the production is not bad at all for a demo, the songs are correct and our team is not so bad musically speaking. My only problem here comes from the few clean vocals which aren't so good but hey, Corrosive Elements is a newcomer anyway and I quite sure that they will be able to fix such little problems with more experience. I cannot maybe talk about a revelation here but this band has a good potential.

"Chaos Unleashed" is a good demo. The band is doing a good work, doing a lot of promo and touring as much as they can. As I already said earlier, this is the good way to find fans and be recognized by labels. It's never easy to find a deal but after some more demos, if the band follows this way of course, it should be ok for them. I will keep an eye on Corrosive Element, a young band which is not perfect yet but which is really promising. Have look at it if you like Entombed and if you're bored by pseudo divas.
