Essentially composed of members of Phazm and Imperial Sodomy, Addicted is a new French combo which plays in the Death Metal category. But here, this is not something old school that you'll be able to listen to but something more into Death N Roll a la Entombed. On a side this is not so original since a lot of other bands have done the same kind of music before Addicted but this is cool to listen to such music nonetheless so if you like catchy Death, it should be ok for you!

Addicted is the perfect name to represent the band and its music. First because the lyrics of this album only talk about drugs and alcohol and second because finally the music of this French band is addictive! This is not so complex on a side and a bit basic and repetitive but the album is composed of good catchy riffs with some cool Rock N Roll influences (and Sludge ones too). "Recipe For The Sick" is not the most innovative release of the year but from the beginning to the end of the CD, you'll be able to find good catchy songs which will incite you to headbang like a crazy dude. Oki I cannot talk about any revelation here but if you like Entombed and groovy Death Metal I think that you'll like "Recipe For The Sick".

The production of the release is really good. The cover is cool, the interpretation of the musicians is really good too and the voice of Mel fits perfectly to the music. The only problem of "Recipe For The Sick" is that the album doesn't give anything new or special. This is well done and I suppose that the guys had good fun writing and recording this release but you cannot expect anything special here just because they're not the first (and only ones) to do such kind of Metal. At least you'll have good songs and good melodies but don't expect any surprises here if you're into this kind of music!

"Recipe For The Sick" is a good album of Death N Roll, not the most innovative one of the year but really cool nonetheless. If you don't know what to listen to and need a good dose of fun (and beer) have a look at this release which is perfect for your long cold winter nights.
