Covan Wake The Fuck Up Tour 2012

As you all probably remember, in 2007 a tragic accident caused the death of Decapitated's drummer Vitek, and the singer, Covan, went into a coma. Covan Wake The Fuck Up Tour is organized by Decapitated and their friendly bands in order to collect money for Covan's treatment. I guess everybody thought it would be indeed a Decapitated+ friends tour, but sadly, the band decided to play only two out of ten dates. It turned out that Virgin Snatch and Thy Disease are the only ones that will play the full tour. It's basically the same situation as two years ago, when these two bands also played together and even in the same venues. But that didn't worry me much, as I missed that tour and Virgin Snatch are one of my favorite Polish bands. Read more...

It was sometime in August that the devastating announcement came about Pure Reason Revolution disbanding after a coming final tour in the UK. As a consolation a promise was made to play their magnificent début album The Dark Third in its entirety at those shows. My favourite band giving their farewell tour... and playing my favourite album in full. No matter what, I had to be there for at least one show. Anyway, what I actually mean to tell you is that I'm skipping somewhat ahead of the events to find myself, at some point in my adventures, in Royal Leamington Spa with intention of seeing one of the bands I've loved for years - Arena. A week in England. Those who know me, or the more clairvoyant bunch of you, probably know the reason I went there. Those who don't... well, those will have to find out in a short while. Anyway, I had a week to spend there, and what can be better than to attend some concerts? The more, the merrier, as they say. Which makes me think I'm somewhat nuts. Leaving debatable (in)sanity aside, though, I got out a gig guide and started searching for gigs of some interest, preferably prog.
