Interesting. I prefer Sabbath's debut over Paranoid.
My absolute favorite from the year is Nico's Desertshore. A decade ahead of its time, it's a bizarre masterpiece of drone folk and gothic/darkwave music. Nick Drake's Bryter Layter, Van Morrison's Moondance, Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, Amon Düül II's Yeti, Kris Kristofferson's Kristofferson, Laura Nyro's Christmas and the Beads of Sweat and Third Ear Band's self-titled are all really good, too. |
