Seeing PTH's Volition #3 and that too be best of 2013 totally doesn't go hand in hand.

New PTH is prolly one of the weakest record out of their catalog. That was a bad pick.

Anyway, as long as its your personal favorite, its fine enough. For me, none of these albums stands out at par what I have listened so far.

Wow, I honestly kept reading that title again and again and again and still couldn't figure out what the hell it meant to say. You can call me slow, but not putting a comma there is just plain annoying (and stupid), so good thing you posted this comment, hahaha.

People on this site might care more about a list that actually features more than a handful of relevant releases, considering this list is made up primarily of pop, rock, and punk. You also didn't provide any links for the bands not featured here or describe what the albums sound like (considering the majority of users here will have never listened to most of these releases).

Just a theory, but I'm assuming you'd have more success with this if your audience had a better idea of why you like these albums.

I listed 30 fantastic releases and people are calling my stupid for a typo in the title. All relevant on this site tho, hardly anything is worthwhile anymore. I hate to sound like this but this site use to be so much better when we had a large group of users that were online frequently and when we actually had decent discussions about music.

Troy already mentioned some of my thoughts. It's safe to say that less than 1% of users of this site are interested in the genres you listed. Also, I think the purpose of lists is not discussion and rather, they are made to show your taste. That's my opinion anyway.
Finally, I somehow agree users used to be more active before and although I was not one of active users before, I used to read the discussions on MS but I still find great load of good discussions here.
Btw, you personally have became much less active yourself

Since your list is quite outlandish for MS' parameters (which I fully support) and as far as I know you like hip-hop you really should listen to this album:

Probably one of the strangest and most impressive abstract hip-hop albums I have ever heard in my life. And if I made a 2013 list, would surely make it.

People do care, but as Troy and mz said, your taste is very different from most MS'ers, so it's a hard list to get into.

Also, you apparently don't care about your own list either, because you still haven't corrected the title of the list.

You should check out Highness - Hold, and Have Mercy - The Earth Pushed Back. Some top notch emo albums, incredibly catchy with an old-school sound. Highness has members from Christie Front Drive, pg. 99 and City of Caterpillars, among others. If you are at all interested in 90s and early 2000s emo/post-hardcore, you'll probably love it.

As far as the list goes, I haven't heard a lot of what is on here, but I have heard Deafheaven and Altar of Plagues. Both of those albums are solid and deserve to be on year-end lists. I've also heard good things about Protest The Hero.

As far as peoples' comments to your list, I generally have to agree with Troy. I come to metalstorm to find additional metal (and the like) bands to listen to. If I wanted to find the top pop / rap or whatever, I would google a list for that In my opinion there is nothing wrong with putting those bands / artists on a list here, but there is certainly no need to get bent out of shape when people don't really show interest in your list.

As far as there not being good discussions on this site anymore, I disagree. There are users on this site that I still follow their lists and albums they like and will have discussions with them. This may be coming off as rude, but I've observed your comments for awhile and you've basically become a snob as far as music goes. Trashing bands / genres you don't like (which is your opinion and you are able to do so). A couple of the "discussions" I've seen on band pages where you've posted basically end up as flame wars.

Just my two cents.

If you haven't heard Protest the Hero, i strongly recommend it! If you do, start with Kezia and work through their discography.

Only about 5 of the albums on this list are out of the range of most metal listeners and a lot are hardcore albums which definitely fit in the "And the like" category.

I'm a very open-minded person, and I hardly bash any albums or musical styles, the only things I can see you think of are the new Summoning, and the new FFDP (which face it, is pile of steaming shit, especially if you compare it to their first albums, which I don't even find good, but that's another story) I may be brash or harsh with my opinion but I'm hardly a snob or disrespectful. Half the time flames wars erupt from things not even relevant to the music, and again, i try to avoid those as much as possible.

The only album from Protest The Hero I haven't heard is Volition. Kezia is definitely my favourite album from them.

It was the FFDP album that I was referring to, and yeah I do agree the last few are really bad. I didn't want my message to appear as a personal attack and I'm glad you didn't take it as such.

Lots of really good shit on here. Earl Sweatshirt and When We Team Up are definitely top notch. Not really agreeing with the inclusion of Lycus (it's not really "top list" worthy imo), but a good list nonetheless.

Glad to see someone else digging WWTU, they've been getting lots of negative publicity and I don't understand why. It's really good pop punk. I threw Lycus in as an afterthought, I agree that it's solid, but that last track was enough to bring it down a notch. Earl's new album is good too. He's the only Odd Future member that seems to constantly spit out good music, a lot of the others are really hit or miss.

I have a few more album to add to this though, maybe Nai Harvest or The World Is A Beautiful place.
