Atrophia Red Sun, Sceptic, Lunatic Soul and Lost Soul are all notable miss outs in my opinion.

Oh yes, I will add Atrophia Red Sun and Sceptic, not sure about others.
Hex_Omega - 13.12.2013 at 14:21
Replaced Sceptic with Eternal Deformity. Lunatic Soul is good but it's not Metal.
Karlabos - 13.12.2013 at 15:19
Entropia (The post bm one) and Cultes Des Ghoules come in mind
Hex_Omega - 08.01.2014 at 16:56
Void Mother added.
Hex_Omega - 09.09.2014 at 20:55
Evilfeast and Indukti out. Mord'A'Stigmata and Widek in.
Erik M. - 09.09.2014 at 21:53
No Evilfeast? Really surprised that it isn't here...

Heh. When I was listening to this album for the first time I thought it's good. But now after a while I think it's noting special. Honestly I was a fan of that kind of black metal but now I prefer something more interesting. Like Mord'A'Stigmata. Also black metal and also from Poland.
Erik M. - 09.09.2014 at 22:09
Ah I see. Might check that one out then.
Alien1988 - 09.09.2014 at 22:42
I also miss Evilfeast... and just about every black metal band I like from Poland . Don't you want to expand the list a bit? 20 does not seem many considering you give some bands two spots.

Hm yes I think I could expand this list to 30 albums.
Hex_Omega - 09.09.2014 at 23:02
Done, now it's Top30. I added Kataxu because that album is good however it's a controversial band. (leader is a NS but that band is on MS so...)
!J.O.O.E.! - 09.09.2014 at 23:09
Lucky I caught that CSSABA album before you removed it. Until now I'd only heard the newer one but the debut is sounding very nice indeed.

NS and MS is just a letter away so...

Hehe yes it's nice but I forgot about that Blindead album... 2 albums per band here btw.

Oh, I love Kataxu. It is here I guess because lyrically it is legit from MS point of view like Drudkh although their members did also some not-legit stuff. I also dig Sunwheel from these guys, very similar sound but that's NS no doubt.
Dangerboner - 09.09.2014 at 23:35
Missing Kriegsmaschine, Lost Soul, Deivos, and Azarath, while your #1 is a ripoff of North American prog, but it's ok LONG LIVE POLOLOLOLOLAND.
Fearmeister - 10.09.2014 at 02:35
Calm Hatchery? Lost Soul? Cultes des Ghoules

Guys, this is Top30, not Top100 But maybe I will expand this list even more, later.
Vombatus - 10.09.2014 at 16:23
Well, it is a top 30 list so quite limited.... but the lack of Mgla is almost painful (and some other Polish BM like Plaga could also be worth it.... Poland has some serious BM shit going on !!!).

You could just call this 'The Best of Polish Metal' and poof. No restrictions.

You are right, I could do that... but I won't I am sick and tired of one big list Besides it would no longer be 'The Best Of Polish Metal' but just 'List Of Polish Metal' and that's not the point of this list.

#10 should be #1...and it's not even close. Props for #18, only thing is the album is too dam long. Drags a bit towards the end.

I have noticed a lot of good post/sludge bands form Poland, Russia, Ukraine lately...it's big there at the moment.

Completely agree here. Blindead's Affliction album is so massive and, at least in my eyes, Riverside has at least one or two albums stronger than Out of Myself. :O

56 minutes is too long for a progressive metal album?

It's a matter of taste. For me Out Of Myself is easily their best.
Góral - 12.09.2014 at 16:06
Nice. You could also add Kobong - Chmury nie było (absolutely unconventional band at the Polish metal scene in the 90's) and Tenebris, especially their latest album Alpha Orionis (If you like progressive backyard). Anyway, a very interesting list, Polish gems in one place

It's more spacey post rock so 16 songs for a post rock album is a ton!

I like them all evenly. Although Second Life Syndrome would be a 10 with better production.
