1. Delain - The Human Contradiction
2. Sonata Arctica - Pariah's Child
3. Epitimia - (Un)reality
This double album has enthralled me with all that there is to uncover
4. Major Parkinson - Twilight Cinema
Like a Diablo Vulture Orchestra Industries stripped down but still dark
5. Inferi - The Path Of Apotheosis
A superb blend of catchy riffs and pulse pounding rhythms, when you need your speed fix this will do. Nice to see bands from Nashville breaking the mold and blazing against the grain.
6. Aenaon - Extance
My mind can't help but look at how much attention the new Behemoth album is getting, but this is will likely get swept under the rug of the collective metal community. Progressive Blackened Metal with lovely experimental-like touches throughout.
7. Whispered - Shogunate Macabre
Finnish metal with Eastern Folk influences, yes please! I sense Wintersun, Children of Bodom and Chthonic touches throughout, maybe it's just me though. Overall so damn enjoyable for someone that's a melodic death metal fan.
8. Shylmagoghnar - Emergence
What a debut album from the Netherlands. Catchy, melodic and atmospherically ambient. Gives me the same excitement as when Enshine's "Origin" album came out, oozing with mood and soothing tones.
9. Words of Farewell - The Black Wild Yonder
Melodic death metal. My favorite dish. These Germans know how to write it. Superb production and touches of introspective more softer themes (for metal) fit their album, cover and band name
10. Demon Hunter - Extremist
11. Babymetal - Babymetal
Engrossed with this at the moment; I love Japanese films and culture itself. Sure this is some sort of manufactured gimmick but still insanely catchy, fun and adventurous, delving into j-pop, death, power, thrash, djent, techno, industrial, dubstep, rap and more. Fuck guilty pleasures, this is an audio pleasure.
12. Crematory - Antiserum
13. Human Debris - Wrought From Anguish
14. Raubtier - Pansargryning
15. Lascaille's Shroud - Interval 02: Parallel Infinities - The Abscinded Universe
16. Infestum - Monuments Of Exalted
17. Kuolemanlaakso - Tulijoutsen
18. Fisthammer - Infallible
19. Tengger Cavalry - Ancient Call
Pagan Folk Black Metal from Beijing (Todays beneficiary is the incarnation of his preexisting well-doer; the fate of ones next existence lies in his existence today)
20. Hannes Grossmann - The Radial Covenant
21. Sanctorium - The Depths Inside
22. Framework - A World Distorted
These New Jersey guys made some great metal that sounds like it's from late 90's Sweden. Yes melodic death metal. But this feeds my insatiable needs for it.
23. Woe Unto Me - A Step Into The Waters Of Forgetfulness
24. Ever Since - Bring Out The Gimp
25. Fear Of Domination - Distorted Delusions
26. Benevolent - The Covenant
27. Transatlantic - Kaleidoscope
Winery Dogs, now this? Portnoy is on a roll.
28. Rise Of Avernus - L'appel Du Vide
29. Vanden Plas - Chronicles Of The Immortals: Netherworld (Path 1)
Another excellent release, on first listen doesn't sound as amazing as Seraphic or Christ 0
30. Ea - A Etilla
31. Big Elf - Into the Maelstrom
32. Descend - Wither
33. Adrenaline Mob - Men of Honor
Russell Allen's vocals simply put, fucking rock.
34. Structural Disorder - The Edge of Sanity
"Tells the story of a man who suffers from a severe psychosis after finding out that he is about to become a father for the first time in his life. The psychosis manifests itself as a voice that commands the man to kill his pregnant wife and his unborn child. After committing this crime the man ends up at a closed ward where he only has got himself, his questions and his memory gaps to accompany him. During sessions together with a psychiatrist his memories slowly start to return and the man realizes more and more what he actually has done.
35. Separatist - Closure
36. Skyharbor - Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos
37. Conquering Dystopia - Conquering Dystopia
38. Animals As Leaders - The Joy of Motion
39. Vanishing Point - Distant is the Sun
40. Hail Spirit Noir - Oi Magoi
41. Morowe - S
42. Behemoth - The Satanist
Enjoyable and it's great to see Nergal back but it feels like it's getting overexposed. The 1-2-3 punch Thelema 6, Zos Kia Cultus and Demigod that got me into the band and able to see them a bunch as they toured the USA seems to be giving me that flat feeling on them lately.
43. Kampfar - Djevelmakt
44. Thyrien - Hymns of the Mortals
45. Altar Of Betelgeuze - Darkness Sustains The Silence
46. Scythia - ...Of Conquest
47. Benighted - Carnivore Sublime
48. Ringworm - Hammer of the Witch
49. Lorelei - Lore of Lies
50. Lethe - When Dreams Become Nightmares
51. Mayan - Antagonise
52. Mechina - Xenon
53. Karkaos - Empire
54. Eldritch - Tasting the Tears

56. Frequency Drift - Over
57. The Mire - Glass Cathedrals
58. Tellurion - Tellurion
59. Barbarian - Faith Extinguisher
60. Wide Eyes - Saṃsāra
Nephew of Animals as Leaders and little brother of Pomegranate Tiger?
61. Exodia - Hellbringer
62. Re-Armed - Rottendam
63. Van Canto - Dawn Of The Brave
64. The Haunted - Eye of the Storm
Still missing something but a tad promising
65. Astrophobos - Remnants of Forgotten Horrors
66. Indian - From All Purity
67. Frozen Dawn - Those Of The Cursed Light
68. Spasmophiliaque - First Step On The Wild Side
69. Iced Earth - Plagues Of Babylon
Kinda disappointing, especially compared to their old albums back when I first started listening to theme
70. Eye Of The Enemy - The Vengeance ParadoxShow Me A Dinosaur
Dust
71. Legion Of The Damned - Ravenous Plague
72. Nilfgaard - Enter Fiction
73. Amalthea - In The Woods
74. Magenta Harvest - Volatile Waters
75. Sight of Emptiness - Instincts
76. Soreption - Engineering The Void
77. Shokran - Supreme Truth
78. Ashen Horde - Sanguinum Vindicta
79. Cynic - Kindly Bent To Free Us
80. Coprolith - Death March
81. Corpsessed - Abysmal Thresholds
82. Periphery - Clear
83. Maerzfeld - Fremdkörper
84. Spherian - Forge
85. Lay Down Rotten - Deathspell Catharsis
86. Persuader - The Fiction Maze

Caught a song of them live during before the DT and OG tour and I'm gonna have to check this out more. Better than my initial reaction here?
98. Slough Feg - Digital Resistance
99. Amputated - Dissect, Molest, Ingest
100. Ribspreader - Meathymns
101. Phaze I - Uprising
102. Carnifex - Die Without Hope
103. Allochiria - Omonoia
104. Dead By April - Let The World Know
105. One Machine - The Distortion of Lies and The Overdriven Truth
Damn...with all the talent and names here I braced myself for something special, I'm let down.
106. Descend Into Despair - The Bearer Of All Storms
107. Blut Aus Nord - Debemur MoRTi
108. Xenomorphic Contamination - Chasm of no Return
109. Ektomorf - Retribution
110. Sunn O))) / Ulver - Terrestrials [Collaboration]
111. Caliban - Ghost Empire
Past few albums got me back into this band. Sadly this seems all too forgettable. More listens needed though.
112. Dephosphorus - Ravenous Solemnity
113. Hollow My Eyes - Separate
114. The Unguided - Fragile Immortality
I would enjoy this sooo much more without the Atreyu-like strained vomit vocals.
115. Graveborne - Through The Window Of The Night
116. Within Temptation - Hydra
The song paradise is a sweet song
117. Have A Nice Life - The Unnatural World
118. Warforged - Essence of the Land

122. Ænimus - Transcend Reality
123. Ingrimm - Henkt Ihn!
124. Solar Halos - Solar Halos
125. Valtari - Hunter's Pride
Commendable but I feel like there's a lot of other bands doing the same thing and so much better.
126. Valknacht - Le Sacrifice D'Ymir
127. The Ragnarok Prophecy - The Dark Realms
128. Enthrallment - The Voice Of Human Perversity
129. Eternus - Labyrinth of Reason

148. Throwdown - Intolerance
149. Architects - Lost Forever // Lost Together
150. Amoral - Fallen Leaves & Dead Sparrows

The kids like this stuff? *shrugs*
153. For Today - Fight The Silence
These dudes are generic as their name

You're a metal listening machine. You've listened to more albums in two entire months than I listened to all of last year.
Great stuff. I'll have to check this out more!
mz - 03.03.2014 at 14:42
Could you please also add the genres? That would be appreciated.

Thank You,
I make sure I give myself time to be creative (I write, other projects, etc.) daily. During that time music is my soundtrack. For a few years (2010-2012ish) I got away from browsing for new music and keeping updated on my favorite bands. I think that was a stagnate period in my life. So with this newly allotted time to listen to music I thought I'd present what I'm listening to with others. I think my 2014 list will be a lot more vast and invested than 2013 (which I recently uploaded, check it out). So thanks again, talk to you more as 2014 progresses.

Hello,
I'll try to add what I think of each album if I get a chance, even it's just a passing sentence or an interesting thought. The thing with genre's is I think they either lure a mind into pre-conceived notions or push someone away in a subliminal judgmental way from checking it out. I'm not huge into raw black metal, drone, shoegaze or leathercore for example so when I see that I tend to shy away from it. I'd rather see someones excitement or passion for a band/album/song and follow along with them down that path. I also think the genre's wars I see throughout the metal community builds barriers and immature and needless arguments among listeners instead of unity and intelligent conversations. That being said hopefully you'll get a good feel and about each album based off any anecdote I give, thank you for your interest.

I've been listening to that Shylmagoghnar album. Dam fine debut. I haven't seen it on any list but yours. I will be adding it to mine

Yes! and it's a two man project with one guy just doing vocals I believe, pretty awesome stuff. Let me know of anything else you think I'd like

Perhaps you have me confused with someone else? I have not commented on your list. I'm assuming bag was meant to be bug though. And I'm sure Babymetal will fall in my list but I order it by what I'm listening to at the moment and enjoying the most. I'm sure the album will get a lot of hate. My description explains why I'm a fan though.

Indeed I had you confused with Divergenceless who posted on mine and was also the first poster on yours. Hence he comes up as originator of thread which I mistook for originator of list.

Big apologies from moi!

Seems so, I don't know what that is honestly but didn't Vader make a kickass song from the video game?
