Best Of 1988… The Year That Defined My Metal Life While 1987 woke me up to metal and I hoovered up the likes of Iron Maiden, Metallica and Helloween’s keepers, 1988 was my metal heyday and a year that produced albums that would still dominiate my top 20 list today. Lots of power metal and plenty of Noise Records!

Screechy Evil Felonious Blitzing Metal The concept of this list is not exceptionally well defined, but I'm circling a basic concept of lean, fast-paced metal with high-pitched vocals that tend to be on the harsher side. The album that inspired the compilation was Evil Invaders' Shattering Reflection, so that can serve as a template; not everything here necessarily sounds exactly like that, but it's all somewhere in the blackened speed/power-thrash/particularly aggressive heavy metal continuum. I'm going entirely by what feels right to me and not necessarily what makes sense on paper, so don't hold this to a rigid standard of consistency.
Here are a few individual tracks that I also thought fit the mood nicely: Accept - "Fast As A Shark" Accept - "Fight It Back" 3 Inches Of Blood - "Leather Lord" Judas Priest - "Ram It Down" Judas Priest - "Hard As Iron" Satan - "Trial By Fire" Crisix - "Ultra Thrash" Fifth Angel - "In The Fallout"

Blind Guardian Ranked I've omitted Legacy Of The Dark Lands because, while I like it, it is not a conventional Blind Guardian studio album and does not feel relevant to this ranking. Additionally, while Beyond The Red Mirror is handily my least favorite BG album, it still hovers around a 7 or an 8, so the stratification is not that immense. All of these albums are at least "good," and most of them are masterpieces.

Song Titles With The Band`s Name It is not uncommon that album titles are chosen after the band`s name. However, song titles that include or are identical to the band`s name are relatively seldom found.
This is a list of song titles with the (entire) band name / band names after (their own) song titles. Please feel free to suggest further titles/bands.

Blind Guardian Albums Ranked My personal preference of legendary albums by a legendary band. Blind Guardian is a band that in my opinion does not have a single bad album . The 90s were a creative high for Blind Guardian . This run continued into the new millennium with "A Night At The Opera" being a creative capstone on their gloried career.

Blind Guardian Albums Ranked From Best To Worst Another list of another great band. Blind Guardian wasn't among my favourites in my teens even if I liked plenty of their songs, in later years I however have started to appreciate them much more.
So yeah, here's the list with some top picks. I have not included the orchestra album as I really don't know how to rate it compared to their other albums. Maybe i'll add it in the future.

Just like I did with my list of Iced earth albums, I've added the names of the tracks that I feel are the most notable.

Empowering Albums For Powerless Losers This is a list of all the power metal albums I have listened to that are worth remembering. Like my other genre lists, this is not meant to be a definitive guide to power metal or a binding judgment on what power metal is or is not. The list exists purely for my own organizational purposes and may contain bands or albums that are not strictly True Knights of the Eternal Thundersword.
The first cluster includes my favorite albums in the genre (and a significant number of my all-time favorites); beyond that, they are listed by rating from 9/10 down to 6/10 and alphabetically within each bracket. Last updated November 27, 2021.

Blind Guardian Discography (Ranked) My personal ranking of all the Blind Guardian studio albums. I think all of their albums in the 90's are absolutely fantastic and my favourite has switched around a few times because of this. For quite a few years it was Tales From The Twilight World, then it was Imaginations From The Other Side. I have to agree with my number 1 choice though. When it comes to the worst albums, I don't actually think they have any weak studio albums, but the debut isn't really impressive to me and while Follow The Blind was an improvement, it still lacks something when compared to the releases that would come after. I think A Twist In The Myth is somewhat underrated and I was highly disappointed with their 2015 release Beyond The Red Mirror
