Best (the rest, and the worst) of 2013 (thus far).
Partially ordered (the ones with descriptions).
Subject to change, as I see fit.

The curtain call to another fascinating year for metal beckons. Far from disappointing, 2013 is marked by some outstanding releases from various genres, many of whom excelled well beyond expectations. A pretty diverse and intense outing has yielded a very large number of albums to this list, a fact that I take heart from, especially from the more unknown ones from both MS and outside, as many of the obscure findings have truly caught me by surprise. All in all, it has been good fun finding and listening to awesome and diverse music, from both inside and outside of my comfort zone. Lastly, a special thank you to everyone who helped making the list better, with corrections and recommendations and whatever else, and those who made their appreciation felt in one way or the other, as well as other list makers, from whom I siphoned stuff up from time to time.

1. Ulcerate - Vermis
2. The Monolith Deathcult - Tetragrammaton
3. Persefone - Spiritual Migration
4. Witherscape - The Inheritance
5. Eye Of Solitude - Canto III

Playing To My Strengths: Facing Death And Its Technicalities

What to expect; incredibly challenging and technically-proficient death metal, or death metal noted for stifling and dense atmospheric prevalence, or both, that may or may not be traversable in one go. Listener's discretion is advised.

Many albums featured here may borrow elements from other genres (prog, thrash, melodeath, grindcore, post, etc.), but the dominant stench of complexity-laden death metal is forever present, and so deserve to be mentioned here.

1. 7th Nemesis - Deterministic Nonperiodic Flow
2. !T.O.O.H.! - Order And Punishment (Řád A Trest)
3. Ævangelist - De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis
4. A Million Dead Birds Laughing - Xen
5. Abnormality - Contaminating The Hive Mind

What a wonderful year, I have to say! This year has seen me expand my tastes like never before. Discovered so many great new acts, while many metal stalwarts delivered the goods as expected. Cybernesis: Impeccably-Assembled Albums To Get You Wired Into The Genre

Disclaimer: This list is influenced by THE LIST here on MS, the one by Introspekrieg.

Moving on; here's my take on what I believe to be the finest in cyber metal (or electro/electronic-based metal with futuristic thematics). A few unconventional choices thrown out there for an overall well-rounded feel. Not all of them are cyber metal, of course, but those albums in question have certain qualities which appeal to the genre, and thus cannot be overlooked.

1. Illidiance - Damage Theory
2. Sybreed - The Pulse Of Awakening
3. Neurotech - Antagonist
4. Ludicrous - Altar Boy Discocult
5. Minority Sound - The Explorer

Supermassive List: Top 20 Picks of Each Year of the Last Decade (2000-2009)

This is not a typical "Best of the decade" list. To be more precise, it's a list about the top 20 albums of each year of the last decade (the ones in MS), in my perspective of course. In this way, a lot of good albeit overlooked albums can get some exposure, in addition to covering more ground at the same time.

1. 2009
2. Sybreed - The Pulse Of Awakening
3. Ghost Brigade - Isolation Songs
4. Porcupine Tree - The Incident

A-List: Coherently Cacophonous Records to Make Your Ears Bleed (With Joy)

This is a list of out-of-the-box, unorthodox albums (metal and non-metal alike) that I've enjoyed for their originality, bravado and sheer retardedness. It's a meagre compilation as of now, but I'll expand it when I hear more of such albums. No order, and subject to change.
P.S.: Feel free to let me know if you know what I don't know... no? O.o

1. Disillusion - Gloria
2. Ulver - Blood Inside
3. Shining (NOR) - Blackjazz
4. Unexpect - In A Flesh Aquarium
5. Diablo Swing Orchestra - The Butcher's Ballroom
