Over the last four or so years I've been listening to metal I've come across and enjoyed the music of well over 200 bands. From heavy to melodeth I have listened to many truly excellent bands. However, one begins to think of what bands he would possibly pick if he had to choose ten or in this case twenty favourites out of his entire musical collection to enjoy for his remaining days. This list is 20 metal bands I would cherish above all others, ones that I couldn't live without. People have often asked me what I believe are the greatest metal songs of all time. To be honest it's hard to pin down the greatest ones with the constantly changing metal scene and with so much mind blowing metal to be had but I hope I've come up with a list that will give you my honst opinion and a good account of myself. In a land of fire and metal resides a pantheon of individuals I like to call the gods of metal. Whether it's Death, Folk, Progressive or any other type of metal these guys have proven that they are not simply mortal men who kick ass at metal but perhaps gods themselves. These are in my opinion the best of the best so enjoy.
