The Ship Of Theseus: When Are Bands No Longer Themselves

The ship of Theseus is a thought experiment that goes along the lines of a ship whose wooden parts are replaced one by one until all of its original parts have been replaced. The question is then raised at which point did the ship stop being its original self. When the first part was replaced? When half the parts were replaced? When the last part was replaced?

1. Quiet Riot - Road Rage
2. Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption
3. In Flames - Sounds Of A Playground Fading
4. Stratovarius - Nemesis
5. Immortal - Northern Chaos Gods

Sibling Albums

So like albums that have a clear tie between them, were recorded around about the same time and were clearly intended together, as opposed to a sequel coming years after. Some of these have actually been released together, as can be seen here.

That's about all I can think of right now. So feel free to think of some more for me.

1. Opeth - Deliverance
2. Opeth - Damnation
3. Metallica - Load
4. Metallica - Re-Load
5. Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part I

This Noob's Journey Through 2017

Slowly but surely, 2017 will come and it is just around the corner and releases from it are starting to leak in, therefore, I must also list them here as I listen to them.

Edit: The new year has come, and more releases start pouring in. Until about March I will focus on both 2016 and 2017 releases so things might move slower until then.

1. Blackfield - Blackfield V
2. Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive
3. Xiu Xiu - Forget
4. Tohpati Ethnomission - Mata Hati
5. Hills - Uncollected Sound

This Noob's Journey Through 2016

Well, we're days away from 2016 and now 2016 albums are either streaming or leaking, therefore here starts my journey in 2016. Once again I consider myself interesting enough for it to be worthy of you to gaze upon the albums I listen to.

Edit: Now that it is 2016 this list is finally legit. Will also try to add stream links whenever possible.

1. Death Fetishist - Whorifice
2. The Lumberjack Feedback - Blackened Visions
3. Vinterblot - Realms Of The Untold
4. Temple Of Evil - The 7th Awakening
5. Lycus - Chasms

This Noob's Journey Through 2015

Wow, I'm actually delusional enough to think you're going to care about the 2015 albums that I'll listen to even though they would probably be just the same ones in the other lists of the same kind and even less, but hey, I can always use the "I'm doing this more for me than for anybody else" excuse.

1. Angra - Secret Garden
2. Marilyn Manson - The Pale Emperor
3. Cowards - Rise To Infamy
4. Caïna - Setter Of Unseen Snares
5. Battle Beast - Unholy Savior
