I'll probably never get a thumb up for this list as there are a lot of controversial albums on it. 2003 is on the other hand maybe the best metal year so far in my opinion. It was here I really started listening to metal and nothing else. The top 4 has had a huge impact on me as a metalhead.

A really good year, just look at the top 3! Three of the world's greatest black metal albums ever! And the six albums thereafter? Magic. All I can say is that this list was a pain to order, because there's so much great albums which deserves to be higher up.

Such a great year! Deathstars released another masterpiece, the Shining album is brutally underrated, Immortal stunned me and even Slayer released, to my suprise, solid stuff.
