I've been a full-time metal fan since the age of about 14-15, but have heard heavy metal since I was little, thanks to my older brothers. I enjoy listening to many other kinds of music, too. I began playing the (electric) guitar when I was 16, but didn't really reach any Yngwie skills due to lack of commitment. I'd rather sing. My vocal skills are self-taught, influenced by such singers as Bruce Dickinson, James LaBrie, a.o.
Check out my former band, Seven Tears (back then called Atlantica), in which I was the vocalist for a short period in 2006. My only merit from that 'era' is a gig at a local music event in Vetlanda, Småland in the South of Sweden that year. The setlist contained all three songs off the "Atlantica" demo (plus an intro), a drum solo, and a cover of Helloween's "Dr. Stein" (with some rearranged vocal lines).
Btw, remember there's no bad music, just different ways of listening. Don't think you're superior.
