Always the bridesmaid.
Karmanjakah - Diamond Morning
Djent, Progressive metal
Review by musclassia
When people start applying catchy epithets to your burgeoning sound, it can be a sign either of gimmickry or of innovation. Tags such as ‘happy thall’ or ‘indie thall’ on first glance sound as if they could be either, but Karmanjakah are very much an authentic and unique voice within the technical metal scene.

Gorgeous and lush music in the face of the apocalypse.
Scimitar - Scimitarium II
Blackened heavy metal
Review by Roman Doez
It’s barely been a year since Scimitar unleashed their debut album onto the world, and they’re already back for more. But things are surprisingly a little different this time around, for better or for worse.

Inferi - Heaven Wept
Melodic death metal, Technical death metal
Review by musclassia
The longest gap between Inferi releases to date was marred by major line-up turbulence, but Heaven Wept has not suffered as a consequence.

Has it been a year already? It seemed like it was only a few weeks ago that I was gawping over Blood Incantation putting on a masterclass, one that it is still vivid in the memory banks. Well, time’s endless march carried on and brought me to today, the next edition of London's premier extreme metal festival, Incineration 2026.

We here at Metal Storm pride ourselves in the metal that we live and breathe, and most importantly, write about. But there's a whole world out there aside from Satan-worshiping black metal and dragon-slaying power metal. Here's what we checked out this month.

Without Jon Drenning but with a new vocalist who sounds like the second coming of Midnight, while still maintaining his uniqueness, the legendary Crimson Glory are back in studio discography after 27 freaking years. The album captures the essence and vibe of the band’s first two releases while expanding their sound to more progressive territory. Fascinating guitar melodies and choruses that are destined to stay imprinted on every listener’s brain forever can be found in every track, but it’s the triple attack of “Broken Together”, “Angel In My Nightmare”, and “Indelible Ashes” that make Chasing The Hydra the album that everyone expected after Transcendence. So, it’s finally here; better late than never.
