Decapitated - New Line-Up Announced

Here's the official word from the band:

"Polish tech death metal masters Decapitated are finally back with a vengeance! After the band had to suffer tragic losses during the past two years, the last remaining founding member Vogg managed to put together a whole new line-up that will represent Decapitated in 2010 as powerful and brutal as they were ever before. To open that new chapter, Decapitated will embark on a co-headlining UK tour with fellow label mates Kataklysm in February 2010!

Commented Vogg: "Hello, what's up UK! As you all know, 2 years after the tragedies we had to suffer, I decided to continue the band. There's no sense in stopping this amazing thing we built up so many years ago together with Witek, Sauron, Martin and Covan. We chose to do our first tour in the UK because we have only good memories from this place and we are sure that you guys will support us... we need you!

I am very pleased to announce the new killer line-up of Decapitated: Kerim "Krimh" Lechner on drums - he's a new blood, very talented and used to play in bands like Thorns Of Ivy and Tone Intimacy. Amazing Rafał Piotrowski comes from bands like Ketha and Forgotten Souls and will take over vocal duties, where masterous Filip "Heinrich" Hałucha from Vesania, Rootwater, UnSun and Masachist will be destroying the bass!

See you all soon! We honestly can't wait!"

Decapitated/Kataklysm UK Tour:

01 Feb - UK - Birmingham - 02 Academy 2
02 Feb - UK - Glasgow - Ivory Blacks
03 Feb - UK - Manchester - Moho Live
04 Feb - UK - Bristol - Blerkeller
05 Feb - UK - Reading - Sub89
06 Feb - UK - Leeds - Rios
07 Feb - UK - Wrexham - Central Station
08 Feb - UK - London - 02 Academy Islington (without Kataklysm)

Decapitated - Band Update

Polish metallers Decapitated have issued the following update from guitarist Waclaw "Vogg" Kieltyka:

"It's time to come back! After a two-year break, Decapitated is coming back with new members. The official new line-up for Decapitated will be announced at the end of December.

As you all know, the decision to continue the band was really, really hard for me, but everything I do now is to keep Decapitated alive. Covan's situation has not improved much and he is still in bed and unable to function on his own. He still fights to recover as we speak and we are all still 100% behind him and hope for the best. It has been the hardest thing for me to move on without Vitek by my side, but he would have wanted me to continue with the band.

Finally, I have found some great musicians who can continue the work of Vitek and Covan. At the beginning of April, Decapitated will start to play our first reunion shows. We will visit the biggest cities in Australia and play some of the biggest summer festivals in Europe. Don't worry, we won't forget about the UK! After this, the band will concentrate on the making of a new album! I would like to thank all the people who have supported us all this time."

Maurizio Iacono of the artist management firm Hard Impact Music adds: "I feel very privileged to have been given the management duties of guiding this great band's future. Decapitated was a band on the verge of greatness until tragedy hit them and the band's world stopped suddenly. Today, we have a man on a quest to bring the glory back that was taken from them prematurely. Vogg, the band's last remaining founding member, has had the gut-wrenching task of forming a new lineup for Decapitated. You can bet that the mission has been accomplished and in honor of the fallen, their legacies will be given the justice they deserve. Our job at Hard Impact is to make sure that Decapitated are guided the right way back to the top."

Gerardo Martínez, Nuclear Blast USA's Label Manager comments: "I don't think there's anyone happier to know that the legacy of Decapitated will continue and the fact that Vogg has overcome the biggest obstacle of his life. We all at Nuclear Blast are extremely excited about the news and know that 2010 and beyond will bring a new chapter for Decapitated in the shape of live shows and the imminent new album. The masters of modern technical death metal are back!"

Decapitated - Looking For A New Line Up

Decapitated guitar player Waclaw "Vogg" Kieltyka has issued the following update:

"I was thinking about that for a long time and it's really hard decision for me, but I have decided to continue this band and keep Decapitated alive. I know it will be not the same anymore but I want to try and I'm sure late drummer Witold "Vitek" Kiełtyka and vocalist Adrian "Covan" Kowanek will support me and will be happy about that.

So I want to say that if anybody from drummers and vocalists feel that they can continue what Witek and Covan did and put all power, energy and live time for this band, contact me. Everyone who is interested, please prepare this tracks: "Day 69", "Post Organic", "Invisible Control", "Long Desired Dementia", and send it as audio/video format."

Decapitated - Singer Recovering

Original news, posted on 23.02.2008

Decapitated has issued a brief statement on the band's MySpace, including an update on singer Adrian "Covan" Kowanek, who continues to recover from the October 2007 vehicle accident that claimed the life of Decapitated drummer Vitek Kieltyka:

"For the people who are sending messages and friend requests... Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to each and every person due to the overwhelming response followed by the tragic events of last October. The friends and families of Covan and Vitek will do their best in keeping you up to date with news on Decapitated and everything pertaining to the Vitek and Covan Charity Fund. The auction and tribute shirts have been temporarily delayed - but they are still in the works and should be up and running in the near future.

We are also waiting on a statement from Covan's family about his current condition. As far as we know, he is stable and on his way to a full recovery. We have high hopes for the future.

Thanks again to everyone for your amazing show of support. It really means the world to us. Please check back for updates."

UPDATE

The family of Adrian "Covan" Kowanek posted the following short update on the singer's condition:

"Adrian is during a long and hard recovery but his state is getting a little and slowly better. Adrian's family would like to thank fans and all the people for their support, donations, patience and faith."

Decapitated - Going On Indefinite Hiatus

Decapitated guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka has recently posted a blog regarding the future of the band:

"I would like to inform everyone interested in knowing about the status of the band that we are on indefinite hiatus for now. It is too early to continue or try to continue without Vitek and/or Covan at the moment.

Regarding Covan. He's recovering now and needs all the time in the world to comeback to a normal life. So I want to wait for him, so we could both decide what the future will hold for Decapitated.

I definitely want to keep on playing and touring as it's very important for me to keep on playing music. While we have this break with Decapitated, I'd like to mention that I'm open to explore options regarding joining or touring as a session player. Given the seriousness of the project I could work on dedicate as much time as possible to it.

I also want to express my respect for everyone who's supported Vitek's and Covan's families since the accident on any kind of way."

Decapitated - DVD Preview Online, Former Vocalist Joins Masachist

Metal Mind Productions will release the first-ever DVD from Polish extreme metallers Decapitated, entitled "Human's Dust", on June 9 in Europe and June 10 in the US.
The DVD will be available in two versions: as a standard DVD and as a very unique star metalpack DVD edition limited to 3,000 copies (more information about the DVD content is available here).

Also you can see an exclusive preview track entitled "Spheres Of Madness" on MetalMindPoland's official site on YouTube at this location (or by clicking here for a direct link to the video).

(Thanks to White Winter Sun for this piece of news!)

In other Decapitated news, Polish metal band Masachist have issued the following update:

"Hello! We are happy to inform you that we have just laid down the final tracks for our debut album. To be honest, it went far beyond our expectations, and that is mostly because we decided to strengthen the MASA-squad by adding a vocalist, who is one of the best in the genre. We are talking about PIG , the former throat destroyer of Decapitated. Welcome aboard!

There is no way we could not mention that we also have a special guest on this album. It is my personal highlight of the year and probably will come as a surprise to many of you. I would like to thank Adam(ex-Lost Soul) without whom it might not have happened. But here is the whole story in the words of Mr. PIG.

"It turns out you can't live without death metal, at least not for long...haha...But there really wasn't much to think about when considering taking part in this crime known as Masachist, since it is a bunch of my old friends, and I was sure they will make some good death metal shit. My final decision was made when I heard the songs - real death metal, with the actual essence of the style, without any of this new school crap. It got me started, hahaha... We recorded the album in Progresja Studio without any problems and had a lot of fun, sometimes maybe a little too much, and since at the time of recording the vocals Immolation were playing a gig in Warsaw, we were able to get them in the studio and feature Ross Dolan on one of the songs! This was the biggest surprise for us and definitely something special for fans of Immolation, including us of course. Thanks a lot Ross! All in all we have nine songs, which you just have to hear if the words "death metal" mean anything to you!

Of course I should also add that "Death March Fury" is the fastest, heaviest and meanest stuff this world has ever heard and Masachist is a Prophet that saves death metal and brings a guiding light to all those lost new-metal sheep and kids singing along to melodic choruses. You will apologize... cheers. PIG"

Decapitated - DVD Out In June

Metal Mind Productions is proud to announce release of the first ever DVD by Decapitated! The material entitled "Human's Dust" will be released on 9th June in Europe and 10th June in USA.

This Polish death metal band was formed in 1996 when the average age of the band members was just 14. All attending the music school, yet facing ridicule with the release of their debut demo ("Cemeteral Gardens", June '97) due to their young age, they succeeded in gaining respect with sound that convinced many that Decapitated is not just another ordinary band. With the follow-up demo ("The Eye of Horus", October '98), the band's abilities really began to shine?. Many people focused on Decapitated's age as a reason to doubt them - the fact was that the band were already becoming an established live act throughout Poland, and in working so hard on the road had earned themselves a cult reputation as genuine contenders rather than simple novelties. Further exposure was garnered by the inclusion of their tracks on the 2000 Relapse Records "Polish Assault" compilation alongside Yattering, Lost Soul and Damnable. Their first album entitled "Winds Of Creation", recorded for Earache subsidiary Wicked World, was produced by VADER's Piotr Wiwczarek. Released in April 2000, the record immediately struck the world-wide attention of death metal fans and the band began to be hailed as potential big league players. They've released 4 studio albums so far ("Winds Of Creation" 2000, "Nihility" 2002, "The Negation" 2004, "Organic Hallucinosis" 2006). The band's early demos were released by Metal Mind Productions on a CD entitled "The First Damned".

Today Decapitated return with their first official DVD release. "Human's Dust" will be released by Metal Mind Productions on 9th June in Europe and 10th June in USA. DVD will be available in two versions: as a standard DVD and as a very unique star metalpack DVD edition limited to 3000 copies!

The main feature of the DVD consists of the band's gig in Krakow (October 2002), which was a part of their European tour along with Vader and Krisiun. Bonus materials include two live performances recorded during Ozzfest in Poland (May 2002) and Metalmania Festival(March 2004), a video clip "Winds of Creation" plus three interviews recorded at various locations: Kraków, 2002 (Vitek and Vogg), Ozzfest in Katowice, 2002 (Vogg and Sauron), Metalmania in Katowice, 2004 (Sauron and Martin). Photo gallery, biography, discography, desktop images, weblinks. Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound.

Amon Amarth - To Tour USA Without Decapitated

Amon Amarth have posted the following message regarding their "Wrath Of The Norseman North American Tour 2007" with Himsa and Sonic Syndicate:

"There will be a series of meet and greets on our North American tour. The meet and greet will be half an hour long beginning from when doors open. We are looking forward to meeting our fans in person and we'll try to make them happen at every show. Unfortunately due to time restraints, we will be unable to have a meet and greet on the dates where there will be in store signing sessions.

Because of the recent tragic events, Decapitated will not be able to be part of the North American tour. We are deeply sadden by the events and are disappointed that our metal brethren will not be able to share the stage with us.

We've tried to find a replacement for Decapitated but it has been impossible. We've deicided to play a longer set and throw in some songs that we either never played live before or haven't played live in a very long time. And we think we have a set list that will please both old and new fans!

We are really looking forward to hitting the roads in North America and finally do a full 90 min set. We hope that as many of you as possible will be able to catch the show!"

Scheduled in-store signing so far:
12/14 @ Scrape Records, Vancouver, BC 5 PM to 6 PM

Decapitated - Drummer Dies Aged 23

Drummer Witold "Vitek" Kieltyka of the Polish extreme metal band Decapitated passed away in a Russian hospital from injuries sustained in a recent road collision. He was 23 years old.

Vitek and Decapitated singer Covan (real name: Adrian Kowanek) were hurt in an accident earlier in the week involving Decapitated's tour bus and a truck carrying wood in Gomel, on the Russia/Belarus border. Both musicians reportedly sustained serious head injuries in the collision, which is believed to have been the fault of the band's driver (although this has not yet been officially confirmed).

According to the Polish Internet portal Onet.pl, Vitek underwent trepanation, a form of surgery in which a hole is drilled or scraped into the skull, and was due to be transported to a hospital in Krakow, Poland for further treatment.

Covan's family released a statement yesterday (Thursday, November 1) that the vocalist's condition had improved. At the time, the vocalist was still said to be at a hospital in Novozybkov, Russia, where he and Vitek were taken following the accident.
