Deep Purple - To Begin Recording New Album In January

Deep Purple have announced that they'll be entering the studio in early 2016 to begin recording their 20th studio album! During a new interview, guitarist Steve Morse revealed the sessions will begin in the middle of January and that the group has been working on new material. Their previous album NOW What?! was released in 2013, so fans won't have to wait that long this time.

Ritchie Blackmore - In Legal Battle Over Deep Purple Royalties

The Daily Mail is reporting that former Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore has sued two management companies, HEC Enterprises and Deep Purple (Overseas), claiming that he got underpaid in recent years for co-writing such songs as "Smoke On The Water", "Black Night" and "Highway Star" and that he is owed £750,000.

Deep Purple - Two Live Albums On The Way

Deep Purple will soon release not one but two separate live albums. From The Setting Sun... (In Wacken) and ...To The Rising Sun (In Tokyo) on 2CD+DVD, DVD, Blu-ray (Tokyo performance), Blu-ray 3D (Wacken performance) and 3LP gatefold on August 28th via earMUSIC. From The Setting Sun... (In Wacken) has been filmed by nine HD cameras at Wacken Open Air festival 2013. For the first time in Deep Purple's history, the band will release a 3D version of their performance on Blu-ray, filmed at Wacken. ...To The Rising Sun (In Tokyo) has been filmed by twelve HD cameras at Nippon Budokan, Tokyo in April 2014.

Deep Purple - 'Graz 1975' Live CD Trailer Available

On April 3rd, 1975 the Mk III line-up of Deep Purple ? guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, frontman David Coverdale, bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes, keyboard player Jon Lord and drummer Ian Paice ? performed at the Liebenauer ice rink, located on the outskirts of mountain-cradled Graz, Austria's second largest city after Vienna. Previously unreleased in its entirety, Graz 1975 will now be released in North America on September 23rd on earMUSIC. A trailer for Graz 1975 can be seen below.

Deep Purple - New DVD On The Way, Clip Online

Eagle Rock Entertainment has set an October 20th release date for Deep Purple's Live In Verona forthcoming DVD and Blu-ray. Filmed in the spectacular surroundings of the Arena di Verona, a Roman amphitheater originally built in 30 AD, this concert from the summer of 2011 sees Deep Purple joined on stage by the German Neue Philarmonic Orchestra for performances of all the band's classic tracks. Check out a performance clip of the song "Space Truckin'" from Live In Verona below to see what you can expect.

The forthcoming Perfect Strangers Live DVD features a show that was filmed in Melbourne, Australia in 1984 and the only full length concert film of Deep Purple - Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord and Ian Paice, at this time. Deep Purple - 'Perfect Strangers Live' To See DVD Release

1984 saw the long-awaited reunion of the classic Deep Purple Mark II line-up of Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord and Ian Paice. It was the first time they had worked together since 1973. They recorded a brand new studio album, Perfect Strangers and headed out on tour. This show was filmed in Melbourne, Australia and is the only full length concert film of the band at this time. The Perfect Strangers Live DVD is due out on October 14th via Eagle Rock.

Deep Purple - New Album Title And More Details Revealed

After teasing the release, hard rock legends Deep Purple revealed via their official website the new album title and more details about it. The new album due to be released on April 26th will be entitled Now What?!. After various songwriting sessions in Europe, the band recorded and mixed the album in Nashville with producer Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, KISS).
