27.09.2011 - 20:25 Written by Marcel Hubregtse on 27.09.2011 at 19:53 Nah, Kent started as basic pop/rock, the first album was quite shitty, had a bit blink 182 vibe to it that ruined half the album while the other better half had some The Cure influences going on. The later albums started to have some post-rock influences in terms of songwritting and overall feeling of climax in the songs. In the notes from my re-release version of Brave Murder Day, Jonas said that they were heavily inspired by Kent's second album in terms of songwritting as well. Some Kent songs have for me the same urban sadness from albums like Viva Emptiness, they just don't have the metal part of the equation. The last couple of albums are mainly electronica but still having that melancolic feeling the whole time. Last but not least, Kent is superior musically speaking and actually far darker and more depressive than Coldplay which is a band I always found "happy" despite what everybody told me. That's why I see more Kent in Lifelover than Coldplay. Coldplay is far more well known though so that's why they are usually the band Lifelover is compared to.

Everybody and their moms know already your opinion about Lifelover yet you think we all have some friggin amnesia or something and you just keep saying that. A couple of years from now you will STILL say the same stuff over and over again That's trolling in my books. Harmless trolling, but still trolling.

And yeah, I do think they ended on a high note. Their newest album is their best in my books, you can read about it in mah review. [/shameless

Wow, Psychonaut 4 is really nice... love that kind of stuff (6:20 onwards of first song is brilliant ) For Sjukdom, I was first a little bit reluctant... was much more "heavy" than previous ones and too long. But after listening it more it's just as fucked up as the rest (I'd take out 2 or 3 songs for adequate length).

Psyched about their new project/band "Kall". Hopefully it will not be just a Lifelover copy, but something new with those influences. Although I honestly wouldn't mind a Lifelover copy either...
